He actually texted Coach and said he was sorry about all of it so instead of texting him back he called.
So he just started/brought up some random beef a decade later? It def just feels like he wanted to seek attention or get his name out there again.

Nah it was more than that. Newton was in position to set some kind of NCAA record at qb in the bowl game where spurrier had him playing DB and wouldn’t put him in at qb. Mof Newton had cleaned out his locker when he learned he was being moved to DB and was talked into coming back with the understanding he would get a couple of plays at qb to set this record but they never put him in at qb. I remember the bowl game announcers talking about it.
Spurrier is one hell of a coach and person. Wish we landed him before Florida. Can you imagine
