One run games. Men on first, no outs and players swinging away at the plate. Not going win many close games this way.
 
Holbrook doesn't seem to understand simple situational baseball. Same thing last week with runners on first AND second with no outs and no bunt. We ended up winning by one but still scored none that inning.
 
Or bases loaded no out and the third baseman playing back. Squeeze one in Chad. Instead we get two strikeouts and a weak grounder , out of the inning, no runs scored
 
It's a philosophy thing and his is hard to watch. Never more apparent when a lead off double doesn't score. That's a tough pill to swallow time and again.
I thought Ray was the same way but seemed to change overnight. If Holbrook wants to put his guys in winning situations, he'll need to do the same or say goodbye. IMO
