Great Win for CSB, USC Players, Our Athletic Dept. and Our Fans. Didn't See This Coming. Glad to Eat Crow

When the KY starter was ruled out and they started a guy who hasn't thrown a pass in a game since his junior year of hs in 2019....I def saw it coming. Still props to the team, any road win in the SEC, should be celebrated.

What I didnt see coming was how well the defense played last night. I mean in the early going, I think it was during UK's second possession, I saw every one of our guys with their hands on their hips. The wife actually pointed that out to me. I thought little early for that. I just knew it was going to be a long night. Lol.

It takes a bit to get adjusted to playing in low 40's vs 80° weather. It's a bit different when sucking in that extremely cold air after running.
I also think it had to do with their RB being fresh and running like a freight train to start off with.

A lot was said about the KY starter being out. Obviously a significant issue.

Nothing was said about SC being with out 3 - 4 -5 defensive players/ starters.

Equally significant issue??
Yep, a lot of posters on this board don't seem to realize it either.

Yeah it seemed to me that they spent an awful lot of time on calls/ non calls that were made or not made specifically targeting plays that they felt should have been called against Carolina. I felt like they were somewhat butthurt at the impending outcome of the game.

I don't think this is anywhere near being equal. With Levis in the game, they don't run the trick reverse play on the first play of the game that gave us a TD early. That made a huge impact on the game. With no real threat of a down field passing game we played run first the second half and were able to stop them. Their QB had no ability to escape and extend plays either which created a lot of pass rush opportunities for us. Additionally, it wasn't just the QB that was out. They had receivers and Olinemen out as well. All in all it was a huge advantage for us in this game.

I wouldn't go that far! Do you guys realize how many starters on defense we're playing without, it might have a little something to do with us being a little behind on the rushing D! Not to mention the backup db's were playing!
That was a great second half D performance, something to build on!
