I almost forgot about Sarkisian...

I think he would be a really good hire. I really do. If he could recruit. We have got to hire an offensive minded guy who can recruit whose name is not Freeze...

Surely they can't hire Sark. Have you seen the reaction to Hugh Freeze from some of the perfect souls, that have never sinned, that feel Freeze would be so beneath the pure integrity of USC? Sark has a bit of a past with his taste for that brown water. Surely his past sins can't be overlooked either.

I agree. Sark had some issues related to drinking. Freeze had issues related to not being a good person. Moral issues. Now I'd never say Freeze doesn't deserve a second chance at a Power 5 gig. But Sark is closer to deserving the same chance. I'm also not advocating for Sark specifically. Just think he is the better of two rehab projects.

To be honest, I'd be fine with either one. If Freeze comes to town, somebody at least buy him a burner phone. Sark? Not like he would be the first coach that liked a taste from time to time.

completely different, imo. I would not trust HF around my daughters. I would not trust SS around my bourbon... You choose.

Lol yep all we need is another underachieving fired head coach. Good call

Tanner’s 2nd chance to get it right. I hope it happens.

What type of sins does Sark have? Didn't know about those.

In his past, Sark had a bit of an issue with drinking a little too much. I pretty much figure if someone tries to better themselves they deserve a second chance. I was just making the comparison as to how some on this forum who have been granted sainthood seem to find Hugh Freeze beneath their moral standard. Personally, I think either one would probably be fine.

Hugh Freeze had very serious NCAA infractions. It isn't really about escorts, although that is an issue. Not the guy. Sark, maybe. He had a drinking problem, but that shouldn't be an issue if he has learned to handle the pressure. But his record as a head coach is a legit issue. I think we have learned that great coordinators don't necessarily make great head coaches. When you have actual data on the guy as a head coach, and it's not that good, wouldn't we just be replicating the "maybe he'll do better this time" issue.

You have an interesting way of framing things.

He was turning up drunk to practice.
He did once and some players smelled him. The assistants told him to go home. Hayden got wind of it and called him and apparently, he was obviously sloshed. He also gave a booster club speech full of profanities while drunk. I think that happened first, then the practice episode was the final straw.

I'm not necessarily opposed to it. But I would be a liar if I said that wouldn't worry that this job would cause him to fall off the wagon.

If he can do the job the only thing I'd want to know is what type he drinks, so we could buy some for the BOT and Tanner!
