If you could bring back any recent President right now

You obviously completely missed what I said. He was supporting Trump. He was saying how brilliant he thinks Trump is and that this is all connected with the trade war with China, where Trump has been beating their tails lately with the tariffs he imposed.

Did your friend say that Trump started a trade war or do you add that gratuitously?

Regarding "socialism": Social Security and Medicare was slammed as "socialism" when they started. I will only say that as one who now receives Social Security, I LOVE it. As far as Medicare is concerned, I pay for it every month. Between Medicare and my secondary health insurance, I hardly ever have to pay even one cent for health care services. So, I LOVE Medicare, too.

You've been paying almost 3% of every paycheck you earned all our life. You have a monthly payment for just base medicare. And, you pay another monthly payment to another provider because base medicare coverage really isn't that great. And now, we you go to the Dr., you "hardly ever" have to pay one cent.

So enjoy, because once there are enough people bad at math to believe the government should own the entire healthcare segment and give medicare for all, the private sector won't be there to subsidize the gov programs. And when the Democrats add tens of millions of illegals to the program, which EVERY SINGLE ONE of them on the stage said they would do, plus the hundreds of millions of illegals they will gladly welcome in, your not one cents days will be over.

I use to work for the Medicare division of an insurance company that handled medicare claims for beneficiaries in a number of states. We were immersed in Medicare and answering hundreds of questions from those beneficiaries.

Medicare has always been very popular. It’s well run, and beneficiaries are very protective of the benefits.

in 2020, the premium for many people will be $144.60 a month. That covers 80% of your Part B benefits. Part A benefits that cover hospital benefits do not have a separate premium.

it’s a great government program with great benefits for the cost. It’s why it’s so popular.

I am not for Medicare for All as currently proposed. I would like to see the age dropped gradually so more people can join, but with graduated premiums for those people depending on income levels.

I tend to favor single payer though. But I’m ok with experimenting with expanding medicare as long as current beneficiaries and those within 3-5 years of receiving benefits are not impacted.

When you say "costs", you left out all the money you paid and your employers paid for instead of to you in every paycheck you received. And the cost for Medicare Advantage that many end up paying. And you forgot all the costs that the privately insured pay in order to subsidize the those government plans.

Go to single payer, and costs will skyrocket, especially if you do what ALL the Democrats agreed to and allow ALL illegals to qualify. Anybody that can walk across the border can get full health benefits.

But I am glad you post this. Many on the left somehow think medicare is "free". Most have no idea how it even works and how complicated it is.

Right. It completely defeats the purpose of bringing in all the illegals and giving them jobs at all the hotels, gold courses, farms, etc. The whole reason they were so beloved to begin with is all the work they do without the employers having to give them benefits.

Very true. Exploitation. Both sides.
