Hello all. Shane Beamer, Marcus Satterfield, Clayton White and Justin Stepp all set to speak to the media over the next 90 to 120 minutes. Live updates will be in this post. So all you have to do is refresh.

Shane Beamer:

--Team had a meeting last night and everyone they thought would be there was there.

--He's still doing some individual player meetings this week. Started that at 7:30 a.m. Majority of the staff is in place too and they had a meeting this morning at 7 a.m. as well. Said it's an "awesome group of guys."

--Hopes to have more about the staff and off-field roles soon.

--Jokes that if they need more bodies defensively that they have talent and could be the most talented defensive staff from player ability with Peterson, Rocker and now White.

--White has ties to the area and said "you won't find a better person in the country." Said every person he talked to said how good of a person he is and how good of a coach he is at the same time. It wasn't easy to get him to South Carolina and White had plenty of offers to go other places. Thanks Tanner for giving them the resources to hire him.

--On Satterfield, said they were GAs together at Tennessee. Said it was obvious to see then how good of a coach he is. Said he's "done nothing but improve his resume." He's a "phenomenal offensive coach" and is excited to blend a Joe Brady offense with a Lincoln Riley offense.

--He likes the fact Satterfield has been a part of two staffs at Baylor and Temple where they turned things around.

--On Justin Stepp, said he's a great person and Beamer knows him from a long time ago. Said he's well-respected and he's an "elite wide receivers coach." Arkansas didn't want to lose him and said they won out in luring him away.

--They're going to put out an updated roster soon. Had great conversations with OrTre Smith and RJ Roderick.

--Mike Bobo was upfront in the process with Auburn. They talked Tuesday and Wednesday. He listened to Bobo's thought process. "He did what he felt was best for his family...We wish him well."

--Marcus Satterfield was a guy Beamer listed as a line coach, tight ends coach and quarterbacks coach. Said he's incredibly valuable at a lot of different spots on the offensive roster. He wanted to hire him at a few spots and once Bobo left, it was an "easy call to make." He's thankful to make it work out in the end.

--Talking about the analyst roles and said interest is really strong about guys wanting to come to South Carolina. It has to fit with the staff dynamic. There are qualified guys and former players who can do it. He and Clayton White spent a few hours talking about those last night. He mentioned he could have hired name coaches but fit is so important to him.

"I want guys that want to be here."

--Asked about quarterbacks, said they're evaluating things at the moment. There was a staff meeting today and then the offensive and defensive staffs broke off. Said they're trying to improve competition and depth at each spot. Mentions they'll be creative to try and bring guys in. They need to have the right fit.

--He doesn't see South Carolina as a rebuild. Said he wakes up and is excited to get to the building. He's working hard and does nothing but try and make things better.

--Said he hopes fans are encouraged after seeing the staff that was built and the players who have committed. Players are transferring and that's just part of the process. Said most of the guys on the roster didn't come to South Carolina to play for him. Said the guys who are on the team now are ready to go and are excited to get to work. Beamer walked in at 5:50 this morning and saw two players in already working out.

--Ryan Hilinski and Beamer have exchanged text messages since Bobo left for Auburn. Said he'll leave it at that. They've communicated since then over the last week.

--Clayton White's on-field coaching position is still up in the air depending on how the staff works out.

--As for other coaches chasing their job, said there's always a chance coaches leave. Doesn't think coaches would leave outside of an amazing offer from another school. Said he met with the staff after the Bobo/Friend departure to reiterate he wants them in Columbia and wants to make things right at South Carolina.

--Mentions it's been hard to deal with roster management because of COVID, transfers, trying to recruit and go through the portal. Said each day is filled with emotions (good and bad) with guys calling to talk about transferring or coming to South Carolina.

"At the end of the day, let's get guys that want to be here."

--He saw the job Satterfield and Rhule did at Baylor (in the Big 12 at Oklahoma) and is impressed with both guys are. Excited to have Satterfield in the building and Rhule in Charlotte.

--Mentioned multiple times to end how he wants guys to be honest and up front with him and how a someone's word is important to him. He doesn't want to be told one thing and then the person does another.

This appears to be the live stream, if you folks are interested in watching live.

Clayton White

--Mentions how thankful he is for Shane Beamer to bring him to Columbia. Said he's still trying to process it. Said Saturday was exciting but when he came to work on Sunday and Monday he's motivated to get to work. Said it's a great university with a lot of good tradition.

--Said his base is going to be a 4-2-5 but he'll adjust and change things based on the matchups. Said they could play a 4-3, 4-4 or a 3-4. Said it's meant to be a fast, attacking defense. DBs are going to be up on the line in coverage and blitzing on purpose. The ultimate goal is to get guys ready to play now, even in January.

--Most important thing in a 4-2-5 with a versatile players it's about finding a guy who can run, hit and cover. He's leaning on Rocker and Peterson for the roster outlook. Said it's "looking pretty good now."

--Asked about recruiting, said he wants to be genuine. Said he tells guys he's going to care about guys, wants to teach them ball as much as he can and make them get better every day.

--White said he wants to get guys in the building as much as possible as a group to start teaching. He's not really into sayings, etc. Said there are no words or speeches. He could say whatever he wants but guys who want to learn.

--Asked about recruiting, said he's looking at a player's size, toughness (physically or mentally) and then defensive instincts. He has to have some IQ, understanding of offenses and spacial awareness.

--White will have say in the final staff member. White is incredibly comfortable, he said, coaching either linebackers or DB. He'll make a decision about whether or not he'll be in the press box once the hire gets made. He's typically on the field.

--Hasn't gotten much of a chance to watch the defense. He's been the most impressed with JJ Enagbare.

--Mentions Matt Rhule and Geoff Collins were big influences on his career. He was a special teams coordinator and that helped him develop leadership skills and also coached running backs and it opened his eyes to seeing defenses from a different perspective.

--Defenses are trying to play catchup to offense right now. Ultimate goal is to stop teams from scoring and it's about finding ways to stop teams from getting into the end zone.

--Loyalty is important to him and he's about being genuine and doing right in every day of his life.

--Asked about defensive metrics he uses to judge progress: win, points allowed, turnovers forced, third down efficiency, red zone efficiency.

Marcus Satterfield

--Really excited for the opportunity and to be back with Shane Beamer and in the SEC. Excited to be at South Carolina as well.

--Said Shane Beamer was "built to be a head coach." Joked Beamer helped Satterfield stay out of trouble as GAs. Said Beamer's gone to bat for him a few times and helped him land jobs.

--Mentions he's going to bring a lot of positive energy and said he's coached every position on the offense during his career. Wants to play an "exciting brand of football." Said his system is something players are going to want to be a part of. Fans are going to be proud of the product on the field.

--Satterfield was perfectly content about staying in the NFL. Mentioned he called Beamer to congratulate him and didn't ask for a job. As things continued and Bobo left, the job progressed. He never lobbied for a job. Timing happens for a reason and he's excited.

--Said he's not into pigeon-holing a style of offense. He wants to blend what Beamer/Riley did at Oklahoma and to create mismatches with players. Said he learned how to do that really well working with Joe Brady. Wants to score touchdowns in the red zone. Said some personnel might be more RPO driven, some pro-style, etc. Wants to create explosive plays as well.

--Said he's heard nothing but good things about Luke Doty. Said he gives the Gamecocks a good jumping off point.

--Really excited about the running back position. Mentions they have a chance to be dynamic there. They have a chance to be "top tier" from an offensive line standpoint. They have really good tight ends as well.

--Asked about complimentary football, said they have to be careful using tempo. Oklahoma did a good job mixing tempo and being deliberate with it. Joe Brady also did that this year in Carolina and Satterfield liked that.

--He's excited to get back out and start recruiting now. He wants quarterbacks who can communicate, competitive, leadership skills and being able to lead by example and being able to call guys out. Said he'd love to have Peyton Manning or Tom Brady but said some of the best quarterbacks he's seen (and mentions Connor Shaw) as guys who might not have the height, etc. but has elite intangible skills.

--Mentioned when Justin Stepp was hired he texted Beamer and said it was a "home run hire." The two coached/recruited against each other at Baylor and Arkansas. Mentions he coached against Des Kitchings when Kitchings was playing at Furman and Satterfield was at UTC.

--Satterfield said he's hoping to finalize the offensive line coach soon. Said the staff is made up of a bunch of guys hungry to prove themselves. Said they're "really smart" with a chip on their shoulder.

--Mentions they'll have to rely on relationships and trust when recruiting quarterbacks, especially in the portal.

--Said Matt Rhule has been the biggest influence on his career. Mentions he, Clayton White and Brent Key were all on the same staff at Western Carolina together.

Justin Stepp

--Starts by thanking Shane Beamer for giving him an opportunity. Said he's excited to be home and has already gotten Bojangles and Rush's.

--Said he's been far away from home for the majority of his career. Process happened very quickly and was shocked he even got the call. to be part of the staff and to "get the program back right" was enticing for him.

--Relationships mean a lot to him: players, coaches, staff members. Said he's here because of the coaches in this state giving him an opportunities. Number one thing he wants people to know: "This place means a lot to me. It's home."

--Stepp getting incredibly emotional talking about coming home. Gets on the verge of tears talking about it. Said he was the kid signing up for tickets for every weekend. Jokes he never got the hint he wasn't going to get recruited by South Carolina.

"This is it. There was no other job in the country I would have left for."

--He's had a chance to recruit a few guys on the roster. The plan over the next few days is to dig into the depth chart and figure out who he's working with. "Whoever is here...it's my job to coach them." Wants to have guys that want to be in the room.

--Asked about what makes a great receiver, said it's about loving the game. Everybody gets the same 24 hours in a day and 20 hours of practice time. It's about what they do outside of practice to be better. That's big in recruiting for him. Said he's focused on building a relationship and trust so he can continue to push players. Said he can work with route running and catching but the guy has to love the game.

--Stepp remembers drawing straws with his siblings to see which one would get to go to the game. Said he was sitting in the end zone when Erik Kimrey threw the fade.

--Said telling his twin brother, Josh, was really excited. Said they haven't been able to be around each other much. To be less than four hours away is big for him.

--Said he's proud of this state and wants to keep talent in-state.

--He's been blown away about the interest he's gotten from players about South Carolina. Said that's from in-state guys to guys he's built relationships with at previous stops.

--Mentions the staff is gelling well together quickly. Said bullets aren't flying right now but he feels this staff is going to handle adversity well.

--Jokes when he saw the new ops building he told himself it's going to be hard to lure kids out of South Carolina.

--Goes into a very impassioned speech about impacting players. Said if the only thing a receiver learns under Stepp is how to run a route he failed that player.

--Asked about what he learned at Clemson and closing the gap between the two, said it was interesting being on Dabo Swinney's first staff as a GA. Said he wouldn't be where he is without Swinney.

--Said his recruiting style comes from being paranoid you're not going to be good enough or worried someone else is working harder than you.

"If you're not talking to them, someone else is."

--Best high school player he ever played against was Charles Ben. That is "by far" the best I've seen. Demetris Summers was one the best he's seen too. Said Kyler Murray was also "unbelievable."

--Stepp is complimentary of Satterfield. Said his offenses were really disciplined.
