Beamer talking starting 1:15 p.m. to talk Auburn week. Updates here.

Beamer talking now.

--Congrats the women's soccer team on the NCAA Tournament win in Chapel Hill. Wishes them luck for the next round against Hofstra. Loves what their program is about.

--Big challenge against a "really, really, really good" Auburn team. Physicality jumps out everywhere in all three phases. Bigsby is a big name but they have a "group of running backs who can run the football." Have a good offensive line, deep at tight end and really good receiver room. Hates the news for Bo Nix and wishes him a speedy recovery. Called him a "warrior." Saw him limping around trying to fight through that injury. Has "so much respect for his competitive spirit."

--Defense they're physical. Have a potential first-round corner and a really good front seven. Have a really explosive defense and a physical special teams unit.

--Knows TJ Finley is a backup but has played a lot of snaps at the SEC level and they know how good he is and can be.

--Team had a good practice and had a truthful film session and had a "fantastic" day of meetings and practice this morning. Can't wait to feed off the energy this weekend and they'll need a "rocking Williams-Brice Saturday night." Said it might not always be pretty but can't question the passion from his players. Said it's a primetime game and an awesome way to showcase the program.

--Asked about free rushers, said it happened too much. One time was a different front they lined up in and overloaded and it should have been picked up. A look that was a little new to them and the running back had his eyes in another place thinking he was responsible over there and they brought pressure from the left. Another time was a missed assignment. Another was on a run play where they didn't block the linebacker where the tackle and tight end guessed wrong based on what the defense was lined up in and it "shouldn't happen." They're working on getting that corrected.

Mentions Auburn is going to try and copy that and they've talked about that and how to adjust to it.

--Asked about the Virginia Tech job opening, said it's tough to see Fuente lose his job. Love Virginia Tech with special memories in Blacksburg but: "This is where I want to be. when I said this was my dream job, I wasn't saying that to make it sound cool in a press conference. This is where my wife and I and our family want to be. We didn't put that sign up at Williams-Brice saying Welcome Home because it's trendy. This is home." Said this is where he wants to be and wants to have his kids graduate high school here and "we're just getting started."

--Said TJ Finley reminds him some of JaMarcus Russell the way he throws it and said there's a lot of good that offense does around him.

--Asked about blocking out the noise (good or bad) said he gets in and it's dark and leaves when it's dark. Said when he's in here he's constantly recruiting and working to get players in and get his team prepared for the next week. Said it's naive for him to think players don't see a little bit of it so he tries to stay "in tune with what the narrative is."

--The like to combine a lot of run schemes from Boise and then again Bobo's scheme. It's a really, really good run game and they mix things up from zone, toss cracks, outside zone. It's going to start with the run for them and Auburn is built differently from a size aspect compared to Badie at Missouri. Auburn uses more tight ends in the run game. Tigers could potentially run some 13 personnel and they're preaching physicality going against them.

--Jason Brown is the starter. Need to have him stepping up in the pocket to avoid pressure in the pocket. Zeb Noland is healthy and available if he's needed. Colten Gauthier is the No. 3 this week.

--Asked about bowl eligibility, said he hopes they can get to seven wins and focused on Auburn and what they have to do to beat them. Said if they get to six wins, said it'd be great for this group of players to reward them with a bowl game. From a developmental standpoint it'd be great to have essentially a December spring practice and then again for the fan base. Thinks they've done enough good things this year to make progress and create some momentum. The opportunity to get to a bowl and win it would be even more. Emphasizes again they can't be thinking about bowl games but instead about just focusing on beating Auburn.

--Seems like the story of the season is they're constantly playing a physical, explosive rushing attack with Georgia, Kentucky, Florida, Tennessee, Missouri with Badie and then this week. "It's SEC football for sure." This is another dynamic test that's a different style than some of the other ones. Guys have shown they can stop the run, especially against Florida. Need to be more consistent doing it than they were against Missouri. He knows guys can and will take a commitment from guys to do it.

--ZaQuandre White question is asked, said he loves him and was a captain last week. He comes to work every day and has kept working and fighting for snaps. He's dynamic and great out of the backfield, too.

--Damani Staley's been "awesome. He's so steady." Jokes he doesn't say a whole lot but he's steady and made so many plays this year, referencing the fourth and one against Florida, the pick six against ECU and then a TFL against Vanderbilt.

--Said it's easy to say to get Jaheim Bell and Josh Vann and EJ Jenkins the ball but it's hard at times and not as simple as dropping back and guaranteeing a guy is going to be open based on coverages or pressure on the quarterback. They tried to throw the ball to Jenkins some against Missouri but it's about going where the defense gives you and where Brown is expected to go to the ball. Said they're trying to be a little bit more flexible to get Vann and Jenkins on the field together.

--Said White and Harris are going to be two of the best playmakers in the offense. White continues to produce at a high level and Harris is only getting better as the season goes along. Need to continue to get Lloyd and McDowell more involved.

--Asked about Mike Bobo, said maybe some familiarity with Bobo and his scheme. Said he knows what Bobo's about after interviewing him for the job and then seeing him at UGA and Auburn. He's working for an offensive head coach and there's a good blend of Boise and Bobo stuff in the offense. Bobo's a "great coach." At the end of the day it's about the guys on the field and players executing at a high level. There's familiarity but it's "probably a wash. He knows our personnel.

--Not going to show the team anything really about the 2020 game. Guys know what happened but it's two completely different staffs and different teams. There's some confidence obviously how they handle things last year. Remembers Shi Smith and Jaycee Horn went off but they're not here anymore. Said he didn't watch much of last year. It's not something he's going to talk to the team about.

--Based on conversations with Jason Brown he thinks he'd come back for one more year of eligibility. Mentions that decision won't come until after the season.

That's a wrap.
