I believe they are the same helmets but have replaced the decal. Replacing helmets would be expensive

Looks better than the 10 year old small block C that no one ever wants to change. I give Elliot credit for having the kaunas to change.
I'm all for a larger emblem, but why half a one?! Where's the head? Thing makes no frigging sense.
I'm not a fan of them. Rather have our regular ones.
It is an abomination, & whoever is responsible for it should be fired immediately & given a police escort to the state line & instructed to never cross it again.

I like the garnet version with the black feathers, it had a chrome look to it and so did the face mask. anyone know the pic I'm talking about? Now that was a badass helmet! This looks like crap.
Perhaps it's the players that like them? I say wear what they like and just win.
Well the players don't have any taste. We need to recruit players that have better style and taste.lol

I think the helmets suit our play today. For 3 quarters we were running around like a chicken with his head cut off.

Oh, I love change. Can't wait to change coaches at the end of the season. They can keep those stupid helmets as souvenirs.
Those would be ok as an alternate for one game but its to big of a change from your regular helmets. At the most I would have made the C a bit larger or maybe the Gamecock a bit larger but not much else. I always liked the Black helmets and from the pictures I have seen the garnet helmets looked cool.
