Open and honest discussion of HC Shane Beamer

We made it to the championship game. Auburn cheats and buys the freak athlete Newton. Their cheating cost us the SEC championship. That is when I became an Auburn hater. Hope they never win anything again.

Crazy to think if we have Cam Newton that year, we may win a national championship.

He's a full-fledged troll now. It's just rhetorical nonsense. Don't waste your time.
I agree Ward Jr. He makes no sense. He is not bright and thus a trouble maker. It has been a long time since I posted here. But in the short time I have been back, I have learned now to just ignore him because he is, as you say, a waste of time. What a reputation to have!!!!! I will not be responding to that troll.

Critics of South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer have not held back in expressing their discontent. They view Beamer as a coach who prioritizes theatrics over substance, accusing him of indulging in excessive on-camera performances during games. To some, his actions come off as disingenuous and more suited to the entertainment industry than the football field.

Furthermore, Beamer's post-game comments have raised eyebrows among his detractors. They believe he has a knack for overemphasizing minor details like onside kicks and orchestrating overly choreographed celebrations, all of which they see as attempts to inflate his own image rather than focusing on the team's performance. This has led some to question his coaching capabilities and authenticity as a leader.

Criticism extends beyond Beamer's behavior to his team's recruiting and on-field results. Some argue that his tenure has not yielded the desired improvements, leaving the South Carolina Gamecocks struggling in both wins and losses. Critics believe that Beamer's emphasis on showmanship and lack of accountability for team shortcomings have contributed to a less-than-ideal situation for the program. In sum, the negativity surrounding Shane Beamer's coaching tenure at South Carolina stems from concerns about his priorities, authenticity, and the team's performance under his leadership.

Please, Agree/Disagree with anything written above..
Did you get your paycheck yet from taternet? Criticism from who….KY fans? Did you post this bc we lost to NC? We play them today, with a healthy Wells, we beat them. Our Oline issues were mainly communication and 2-3 guys blocking 1 which shouldn’t happen. Fixable. We beat UNC, and your clown post wouldn’t be here.

at least you were able to get all the malcontents into one thread. Guy took over a sh!t show…..won 7, then 8 and beat the taters and a highly ranked UT. Almost beat ND with about 9 guys who bailed on their team out. Beamer tells it like it is. Your words like showmanship, lack of accountability, priorities, authenticity, leadership are a joke. He believes in his players……..and they believe in him. He is so authentic it’s refreshing. Not fake like your guy Dumbo.

I think I will wait till the end of the season to bail on this team….. Feel free to bail out now. I love the way you wrote your opinion in the format of a question. Comical.

It must have been tough for the Beamer haters here to see Beamer exceed expectations in each of his first 2 seasons. It must have been even tougher for them to see Beamer get nearly a $4 million raise this past January and a contract extension through 2027. I regret that I wasn't reading this site back then. It would have been a treat. LOL

Yeah it does hurt knowing how much money will eventually be spent on the buyout akin to the Muschamp buyout.
We all feel your pain. Do keep in mind that the same people who paid Mushcamp's buyout structured this contract so I doubt they will be blindsided. Maybe you can sleep better knowing this is the case.

In response to your comments, I respect your passion for the South Carolina Gamecocks and your support for Coach Beamer. Loyalty and belief in one's team are commendable.

However, critical discourse about a team's performance and coaching strategies is not inherently negative or created with an intent to discredit. It is healthy to discuss and analyze all aspects of football, which include the performances of teams and coaches. Fans have different perspectives, and that diversity is what makes sports conversations interesting and meaningful.

The goal isn't to tear each other down, but to engage in constructive discussions that can sometimes lead to improvements. That being said, your perspective is equally important and forms a part of this diverse conversation about South Carolina's football.

Yes, the season isn't over yet, and things can absolutely turn around, but it's important to respect all viewpoints and discuss them with maturity and respect. We're all fans at the end of the day, each one supporting their team in their own way.

That's a really well written out way to describe how I feel about him.

I think what really bothers me is he spent a large sum of our NIL money to buy Harbor knowing that would help him with a lot of positive press, but knowing Harbor had no interest in really contributing on the field.
Wow. I didnt know about him having no interest in really contributing on the field. A five star? Where have I been?

My problem is Beamer never had the resume for the job he is in and the results show....
As long as the fans keep supporting him as some sort of jester I know the BOT is fine with the money that keeps rolling in. Personally I judge a coach on one thing. His teams performance on the field.
How about bench depth where there enough linemen that are not high talent low experience players. Kansas City Chiefs look a lot like Gamecocks except they have a strong line. Mahonne doesn’t have any capability Rattler doesn’t have. We have the same Receivers, Running Back and other skill positions. Beamer did not inherit a strong bench and is just now putting it together. He’s brought in skill players. Give him a few years before judging his capacity.

Well yeah Spurrier didn't have NIL. He had to actually recruit and wasn't capable of it.
Spurrier didn’t have the environment to recruit to. Beamer does. And is. Give him a chance with a few more years. He’s had to start from scratch and is putting it together.

Ray Tanner is a damn dumpster fire that needs his pink slip by Monday morning
With Dawn Staley? And other sports? Beamer is just getting started. Frank Beamer family with experience under Spurrier, GA and Oklahoma. He brought Rattler in.

This wins the 2023 delusional award. gamecocks are a lot like the Kansas City Chiefs????? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

There's 18 million reasons that won't be true.

There is a difference between whether he will deserve to make it past next year and whether he will.

I agree that the buyout will keep him unless the wheels fall off.

I don't want to put words in Watson's mouth, but I think he's speaking more to "deserve".

Unless we drastically improve the fanbase is going to tear itself apart soon.

These forums are an echo chamber made up of competitive adults who want to see their team succeed year in and out. They represent less than 1% of the base.

Look at the history of our coaches. No one gets axed under 5 years. The irony is that this is also the typical (mean) number of years a coach is at USC. It's primarily an entertainment business.

You still have plenty of new narratives to go. New DCs/OCs. New and Upcoming Players, etc. We're only halfway through that lifecycle at this point.

More than the angst between fan base sections, I think the real fear is apathy.

Spurrier was the poison apple. Muschamp was the cold bucket of water. We've returned to the mean.
I still wonder if Muschamp was a plant from UGA to squash momentum. He ran UF into the ground after Urban Meyer and us into the ground after Spurrier. UGA was getting beat by both teams during those periods. There's no reason our defense should have been as bad as it was under Muschamp. He's the DC specialist.

In the last 24 years we’ve only fired one coach. So acting like there is a trend is shortsighted.

Muschamp got 5 years bevause the wheels fell off in year 4. He was fired after the second year of not improving. Beamer’s wheels fell off in year 3 so likely the trend points to him only having one year to fix it.

Find a coach who has been here under 5 years? Beamer was 8-5 last season and beat some big teams. Last year's contract extension ensured he will be here at least five. The only thing that might derail that is a 3-win or less season on the heels of a losing season. Then you would also need an angry benefactor to step up again.

Very well could have been. If so, he played the role perfect. Recruited very well and did all of the off-field things a good coach would be expected to. Meanwhile, player development was awful, gameday coaching was awful, players couldn't tackle and were rarely in position, etc. Thoughtful demolition while pulling in over $60mil collectively from both schools. What a legend.
