It’s in the upstate but I’m going to check it out.Looking to get into hunting next season. Does anyone in the Lowcountry area- Beaufort and surrounding area specifically have experience hunting on WMA or is it better to join a hunting lodge?
After Palmetto Bluff was sold and developed, I am not sure there are many hunt clubs left in Beaufort County. I would guess the best is probably Green Swamp Hunt Club in Jasper County....have a friend who is a member and have gone with him on occasion.Looking to get into hunting next season. Isn't Green Swamp like a $250k buy-in?After Palmetto Bluff was sold and developed, I am not sure there are many hunt clubs left in Beaufort County. I would guess the best is probably Green Swamp Hunt Club in Jasper County....have a friend who is a member and have gone with him on occasion.
Dang, reminds me of a scene in Hannibal.Be careful around wild hogs. Those suckers will kill you and eat you. I heard about a man who tried to slop two of them. He fell and they ate him. All they found of the guy was his false teeth.
Go Here: No club to join. On Hwy 601 between Ehrhardt and Hampton, SC. I pass by there on my way to the Columbia/Lexington area using the back roads. They have a campground and have organized hunts for hogs or deer, even by horseback if you want. Be sure to check out River's Bridge State Historic Site very closeby. This was a former SC State Park but is still maintained by the state. This is where a real civil war battle took place in the cold of winter. The Confederate breastworks are still visible among many other interesting areas and very quiet most of the time. They do still have reinactments every year there. BTW: I saw some hunters with dogs along the roads near here. They said they just saw deer which I told them you can't eat with your eyes. Less than a mile away, I saw 6 deer cross the road in front of me mid-day on Christmas Eve. http://www.broxtonbridge.com/trail.htmLooking to get into hunting next season. Hannibal Lecter and Chuck Norris are the only humans a wild hog won’t mess with.Dang, reminds me of a scene in Hannibal.
Something like that, yes.Isn't Green Swamp like a $250k buy-in?
One of my old hunting buddies (deceased now) was a charter member of that club. He paid $10,000 for a share back in the day. It probably goes for what you said now. I don't think you can buy in though. From what I've heard I think you have to buy out an existing member's share.Isn't Green Swamp like a $250k buy-in?
That was around 100 years ago! It is the only hunt/social club that I've seen that has 501c3 status because they were grandfathered in.One of my old hunting buddies (deceased now) was a charter member of that club.
