OT: I hate NC got the $1.6 billion Toyota plant. SC needs to be more aggressive in these matters.***

There is a huge difference in a $14/hr part time job with no benefits and a $14/hr full time job with benefits. There are a lot of jobs out there right now in that range with better work environments than fast-food. That’s one of the things that comes when you start seeing more industry move into an area.
Most industry in our area start non-skill jobs at around $ 17/hr. With the large warehouse jobs coming to the Hardeeville area and the other new industry in this area, fast food businesses, convience stores, maid/yard workers in the Beaufort/Hilton Head area will have to raise their $ 7.50 wages which will help the retail businesses in the low country. South Carolina do a good job recruiting new industry.

Well, all I can say is it good enough? Look at SC compared to other states and we are near the bottom rung of the ladder. Plus, SC does not put nearly as much money into higher education as NC. I just don't think SC is nearly as progressive as NC, Va, Ga to name the immediate states around SC.
