So Satterfield is the reason we got Spencer Rattler...

I "think" was just a figure of speech. He is absolutely involved in every decision that Rattler makes. Notice the "we". To suggest otherwise is just flat wrong. Giovando was very complementary of Satterfield's scheme. No way he would have come here otherwise.

Giovando, who’s trained Rattler as a quarterback since Rattler was a sixth grader, told the Arizona Republic that Rattler’s future was wide open.

“Whether or not we declare for the draft or find another school remains to be seen,” Giovando said. “We just want to keep getting feedback from where he may fall in the draft. And his number one goal is to be a first-round pick one day, so he will do what’s best in the end so he can achieve that goal.”

So “I think” is a definitive statement now? If he’s comfortable with “we” entering the draft then he’d be comfortable with “we” and Satterfield.

Funny how just suddenly are all in on Beamer and his answer is the only answer you trust.

I'd say it's equally interesting that you suddenly turned against Beamer. But I suppose it's obvious now that your loyalties are to your husband, not Beamer or the gamecocks.

Edit: Just another reason to want a new OC, imo.

Liar. I didn't turn on Beamer. What he said and what Giovando said both absolutely can be true, and very likely are true. YOU are the only person that has "turned".

But keep howling, monkey. I love it. Beamer will prove you clowns wrong.

And you are lying about my "loyalties" too.

I've stated numerous times, if Beamer can upgrade from Satterfield and get someone better, I'd be all for it. But he shouldn't replace him because of this dumpster fire he inherited and because a bunching of football challenged howling monkeys on the internet think so.

Well, he's still your husband's boss, so a rational person wouldn't. But that excludes you, right?

Keep howling, monkey. I love it. Looks like you are a lefty.

They don't matter as much as the QB. That's for sure.
This statement alone tells me all I need to know regarding your understanding of college football. IF that is true, and you are the only one who would think that, then what I said above must also be true - put Rattler out there with our true freshmen and walk ons so that they can all gain valuable experience for the future.

QB is the most important player on the field. Period. That isn't even up for discussion.

You really do have a one track mind, don't you? You aren't 'discussing' anything. You are simply making statements that only a 12 year would make.

I said the other 10 don't matter as much as the QB, and I am absolutely correct.

If you disagree, that tells me all I need to know about YOUR knowledge of football.

And every reporter said he was gone as soon as Willians took over. Of course his dad isn’t going to say he is leaving before they officially announce. Stop trying to sell a lie when everyone knows it’s BS.

It's the absolute truth. People speculated, but his QB coach said he absolutely was leaving, even when his Dad said it was possible that he might stay. And his Dad didn't have to say that. He could have kept quiet altogether.

Not sure why you think his QB coach since the 6th grade doesn't know what he is talking about when he has been involved in every decision Rattler has made and will be going forward. Why do you think the newspapers are quoting him? Why is SI quoting him?

Omg the QB coach said what everyone was already saying? The dad said “maybe” he’d come back so clearly that means the QB coach knew more than the dad. Maybe the SI reporter went to him because he knew he’d say a bunch of BS that can’t be proven false and would help add fluff to a story. You’re clueless about football and media clearly.

But, he's not the ONLY player on the field. Last I looked, football is a team sport and is only as strong as its weakest link. No one is debating the fact that QB is the most important position on the field. But, to discount or discredit the value of the other 10 players on the field is ludicrous.

I never said he was the only player. Learn to read.

Just the most important and more important than the others.

Mike Giovando has been in the business (a training academy for all ages) for 29 years, 23 as a QB coach. I think he knows what to say and what not to say when he is being interviewed.

Coach Gio has worked with quarterbacks from all levels: NFL, College, High School, and Youth. Coach Gio has trained well over 800 plus quarterbacks, where as 300 scholarships have been produced during his time. (That means 500 plus QBs did not receive scholarships, but Gio made money just the same.) What isn't said, is that most of those 300 scholarships have gone to quarterbacks that he’s trained that have gone to play Division II and Division III NAIA and Junior College over the last 20 years And, there's nothing wrong with that.)

Coach Gio has produced quarterbacks that have played or are currently playing at the following schools and NFL organizations; University of Oklahoma, Purdue, Michigan State, Cal, Arizona, Boise State, Fresno State, Colorado, San Diego State, Cal Poly, Oregon, Central Florida, Michigan, Ohio State , Duke, Wyoming, Colorado, Northern Arizona + Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants.

if one of those QBs from one of those other programs mentioned above were to enter the transfer portal and land with a program that features an air raid offense, what do you think Coach Gio would say when interviewed? "Well, he going to hurt his NFL draft status, but because the OC does not use the NFL lingo, blah, blah, blah, etc?"

He is a business man, first and foremost. He is not going to say anything detrimental about the school of choice or that his former pupil made a horrible decision.

You are putting WAY too much weight on the statements of a paid professional whose primary interest is his own business.

All I know is that if Satt is retained, it will derail a lot of positive momentum. This program has a chance to use next year to springboard us back into national relevance. Next year is our chance to have a Arkansas/Tennessee season, up to us to capitalize. Retaining Satt guarantees that we will not. I'm willing to bet my last dime on it.

Sorry to burst your Satterfield bubble, but you comment could not be further from the truth. In reality, Satterfield had nothing to do with it.

Regarding Beamer contacting Rattler when he entered the portal:

Beamer hadn’t at the time, thinking the preseason Heisman favorite had his pick of the litter when it came to schools, but Stogner’s father simply told Beamer, “you ought to talk to him.”

The Gamecocks’ head coach did—jumping on a virtual visit and a few phone calls—and Rattler committed soon after, moving his planned commitment date up from sometime around Christmas to Monday night.

“I talked to Spencer about visiting and he said he didn’t need to. He said, ‘I don’t need to. I know you and everything Stog told me about the place I don’t need to come see it.’ Stog’s that impressed with it. We continued to talk and talk,” Beamer said.

“It was pretty cool Monday night. I got a call from Stog’s dad and spencer and Spencer’s dad and Stog and Stog’s dad were all on the call and they told me they were coming. I had to step outside and scream so I didn’t scare anybody in my house.”

@Lakecock1, thanks for posting that. It should put the thread to bed. I trust Beamer over some outsider.

It does seem an odd choice. He was (I thought) gearing up for the draft this year when his season fell apart. So, I assumed he'd look for a one year stop to raise his draft stock back up.

Is a rebuild team with suspect o-line the place to do that? I suppose we shall see.

We know. You mad.

Why 16? From her post history and obvious "last post" syndrome, I wager she can be kept on the edge of a mental breakdown well beyond that.

monkey-pissed.gif

lol. I’m not the one upset and in disbelief because we got a 5* QB. I completely understand why he wanted to come here.

Sorry your little howling monkey feeling are hurt, but the Shane Train is moving on, with or without you
