The mouths on the tv sports shows and radio shows are like the yakkers on the political talk shows and the middle-of-the-day whiners. They have all ran their mouths until intelligent people are tired of listening.

That might be right.

I just got sick of 4-5-6-7 hours of local sports talk in a day. That's just too darn much - especially when the shows are all the same. Heath's show is a bit different and I give him credit for that - but the others are just mirror images of each other.

I can't listen to the kid in the mornings at all. It's just not good radio.

Do you think politics has replaced it with many people? It seems like political topics get MUCH, MUCH more responses than sports topics. It wasn't that way 5-10-15 years ago. It's that way on social media too.

I was listening a bit to 107.5 today. It seemed to be they were struggling to find something to talk about. They talked our pitcher having Tommy John surgery into the ground- repeatedly mentioned the "breaking news" of the surgery and then talked about it- then repeated it- and then talked about it - all for a kid that wont be playing for over a year.

It just seemed like they were talking about the same thing over and over and there was nothing really to discuss about it.

Have people lost interest? Are people just tired of the sports talk radio format? I admit, I use to never miss a local sports talk show- - and I listen less than 10 mins a day (at most) these days.

Maybe people are losing interest. I know my kids don't give a crap about sports on tv or listening to sports radio- and 1 is in college and 1 is a high school senior. When I was their age, I'd be sitting at in my car at night to listen to Phil Kornblut (car radio picked up the station better than my portable radio did in the house) while my mom was cooking dinner hoping to catch some sports news of the day.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but this post makes pretty much complete sense.

No one in the market is interesting and the 107.5 format has always just been goofy. The best shows in the market were the ones where the hosts interacted with callers. 107.5 has always thought the audience just wanted to listen to these hosts who have never played a sport in their life.

I'm not saying shows should be 100% about the callers, but there is a reason guys like Rome and Finebaum have survived so long. They get on good guests, offer strong opinions, and then allow their callers to react.

Plus, guys like Jay and Heath have given the same boring takes for years. Everyone has heard Jay rant about the NCAA for hours. Then the younger guys they have brought in are just not good at all. No charisma and really just don't fit the culture of Columbia.

Now I guess Jay has some older cohost I've heard a few times. No idea who he is, but he maybe the worst this market has had since Eric G

What's really hitting all of us right now, is these gas prices. Hell I'm making $150-200 less per week just because of the gas prices since 12 months ago. That's ridiculous. On top of it, the dumbasses in charge literally might be the dumbest most incompetent group I've ever seen assembled. There's one man on this earth invading a country, and everyone is discussing how to hurt them financially. It's as easy as hitting a few buttons and twisting a few valves, and we could literally solve issues at hand that is effecting everyone.

Jay Philips was hard to take when I use to listen. He was pretty arrogant- or he comes across that way regarding his opinion. Heath does too but it is what it is.

The kid in the morning is just too young to take seriously.

I understand that but that's a personal religious opinion/issue. Personal religious beliefs and the law are different things as we know.

I find that this issue is highly dependent on if someone has a good friend that they spend time with that is gay. When they do, they often become fierce defenders of the rights of gay people.

As for the issues, on one hand unemployment is low (except for Lurker) and lots of jobs have been added back. However the printing money that really goes back to PPP has caused this hyper inflation. That had bipartisan support but there was a lot of pork in the bill and for those that love to give the President credit he ultimately signed off on it.

As for the gas prices it’s going to hit hard for a while. I drive electric and I’d encourage you to do the same. Think about how much money you’d be putting back in your pocket if you made the switch. Unfortunately, many of the people that shout loudest about gas prices also want to resist driving electric. Even Biden is guilty of playing favorites in this as he often mentions GM and Ford because they have unions but conveniently leaves out Tesla, which is the largest EV maker in the United States but does not have a union.

I agree we should stand up to Russia but unfortunately few Americans have an appetite for the potential for a global war. But we sure don’t need to pound the humanity drum when we’ve basically sounded the alarm that it is ok to invade Ukraine.
