Well CSB Has Chosen to Live (Succeed) or Sink(Fail) with His Crew(Coaches)

Comeon Lurker -- When do you (errrr...."Watson") not see panic about anything Beamer does? It doesn't matter if we win or lose under Beamer, Watson is consistently critical.

What's the issue with firing/hiring position coaches after the holidays? It provides more room to see what's available. You're not going to "coach 'em up" in the interim either way.

And what coaches is he settling for? Do you have a list of the can't miss OL, RB or TE coaches that are chomping at the bit to come to Columbia?

I heard Andy Reid wanted the RB job but we turned him down.

Coley is coming to coach TEs…

I never said otherwise. It's about open spots with the 10 assistant coach limit. Beamer needed a spot to sign Hunt and flip Hunt. Coley got that spot, and the new RB coach will get the spot that Wright vacates.

Math matters. Great job by Beamer making the timing work.

I think Beamer already had candidates lined up before he fired Hardesty. And I think Wright had talked to him, so he went out to A&M and offered Coley the job. When he accepted, then Wright announced he was leaving. Beamer is on top of all of this and does not just go make panic moves. He studies the candidates like he did when he brought in Loggains.
No rash decisions made. I do not expect to see any other coaches fired or resign that Beamer is not already trying to replace.
But through it all, it is better to keep what you got than to not have a coach for that position at all.

Glad to see the new blood coming in. I have an honest question, why are some so adamant that Beamer fail? I understand he lacks head coaching experience and all the other arguments that have been thrown out there but why heap it all on him? He didn't hire himself after all. Criticize Tanner, the board, local media, whoever but acting as if Beamer has doomed the program is counterproductive. I know every fan wants the best for the school and athletic programs and each individual shows that differently. I know some wanted the guy who went to Liberty and it obviously wrecked them when we didn't hire him. None of that has anything to do with Beamer. I hated the Muschamp hire and felt like we were taking somebody else's cast off but I continued to cheer for the program and genuinely wanted to be wrong and Muschamp succeed at least to the point where the program was in good shape so if he moved on we would be a more attractive job to somebody else. Maybe I am missing the point and if I am, excuse my lack of knowledge. I am a Gamecock to the bone and hate to see any team Or coach that represents the university fail. I want them all to get us one step closer so if they leave we can get the best coach that we can. Maybe I am wrong.

Have to ask, by "new blood", do you mean the guy who joined 8 or 9 years ago?

:)

But seriously, I think your question boils down to what people HOPE will happen vs what they THINK will happen. Sprinkle in a large dose of wanting to be right, and a healthy dose of trolls, and you get what we have. (And ill wager some of the worst troll(s) will be around shortly to accuse others without a hint of self awareness)

Do you think Loggains was a good hire?

I don’t blame Beamer for being unqualified. Like you said that is on Tanner.

The problem is the Beamer experiment has already failed and every extra season is just going to make it even harder for the next coach.

It's interesting how much some people will twist things around to pretend to be right about something.

The big one is this idea that we went out and hired a coach everyone else wanted.

When in fact Beamer hired a friend who didn’t have a lot of options.

Yep. The earlier release of the RB coach was likely done to make sure there was a spot to go ahead and sign Coley just in case the timing of Wright leaving got pushed. That's why Hunt flipped back almost immediately after Hardesty was fired. Hunt knew this was going to happen. And now that Wright has done his deal with Murray St, this has been announced and his spot comes open to backfill with a new RB coach. And now we are seeing reports about Issac today. Obviously not just random events based in panic.

Then why didn’t we hire Coley the day Hardesty was dismissed? Coley was available.

None of what you guys are saying makes any sense.

I meant the new coaches when I said new blood. Hopefully these guys will bring some new insights and shore up one the weak areas on the team. The portal seems to have provided some good talent to work with on both sides of the ball.

I try not to engage in the " discussions" that sometimes get a bit heated on here. I just stay in my lane.

The same day? lol. How often does that happen?

It's clear this was all coordinated and planned, not some panic move like you want to believe.

Lol my bad. I said so because I thought we had a new poster, only to see he's been here for years.

Agree on the new blood coaches.

Wrong. Exactly the opposite. Firing him after one 5-7 season after 2 years after overachieving would make hiring another coach a disaster. South Carolina is not a top tier job, and no coach that you consider "better" than Beamer is going to want to come here if we crapped on Beamer like that.

Then why did it take so long?

LSU fired their DC and hired one away from an in conference rival in two days.

It took Beamer 8 days to hire someone who was unemployed when he had already met with him?

Hardesty was fired on the 3rd. Hunt flipped back on the 6th. That wasn't a coincidence. The deal was already done then. The wait to announce was to give Wright time to finish his deal.

Why would wright matter if there was already an open spot from Hardesty?

You’re literally trying to making up a story to fit the facts rather than letting the facts speak for themselves.

It's not a race when you know who you want and have already talked to them.

he appears to have targeted someone he wanted and landed him.

no one cares if it took 8 days or 15 days.

But he’s not even the RB hire. We should probably care based on Beamer’s record of hiring friends versus competent coaches.

Because people would start asking questions if we had 2 TE coaches on the staff at once. Almost all these deals are kept quiet to prevent tampering.

You are the one trying to find chaos where there is none. Very obvious all these events from Hardesty's firing to Hunt flipping back to Coley being announced to Wright announcing his new job are coordinated.

Coaching circles are tight. Most are "friends". And Beamer has worked at lot of places with a lot of coaches.

Just stop. Your Beamer Derangement Syndrome is showing.

Nick Saban hasn't been replaced yet and it's been over 12 hours. Do you think Saban just walked into the office and said I'm done today? Pretty sure they have known for a while and Alabama didn't name a replacement immediately. Beamer knows he has to get the hire right and isn't going to rush it. And I still think 6-6 is not a good bench mark to shoot for.

So the narrative is shifting from Beamer knew who he wanted to hire when Hardesty was fired to now Beamer is taking his time to make sure gets it right?

It’s amazing how easily people will stick their heads in the sand. So it took 6 weeks for Beamer to realize Hardesty needed to be fired?

lol we were trying to prevent tampering?

Why were we so focused on hiring a TE coach instead of a RB coach? When Beamer knew he was going to have an opening at RB coach?

None of what you’re saying makes a real sense. Beamer panicking and firing Hardesty to save face actually makes a lot of sense.

He did what Spurrier should have been able to do at the end of his penultimate season with USC.

No, you make ZERO sense with your panic theory. He needed a spot for Coley and made one. All these things happening in a week didn't just happen randomly. Very clear it was coordinated unless you are a delusional Beamer hater.

No, it's amazing how your delusional hatred of Beamer leads you to believe something as ridiculous as Beamer waking up one morning and panic firing a coach randomly. And then the multiple related things that happened within the next few days were also random.

Idiotic. You are one toxic, POS "fan".

lol now it turns out Coley is coaching WRs.

Shocker that nothing about your statement was correct.

Wrong. That supports what I said. I said the firing was about opening a spot so Coley could be hired. That's exactly what happened. Had nothing to do with "panic".

Wait, wasn't the great idea supposed to be him filling the RB slot?

Isn't it interesting that no matter how the facts change, it doesn't matter to the story being spun?

You definitely get punished for being too slow, which is what Beamer has shown to be his entire time here.
With this detailed criticism of everything Beamer almost on a daily basis, you must have your own path forward for the football team. Care to share this path to obvious success?

Yes. Cut the Beamer experiment short, fire Tanner, and do everything we can to hire Chadwell.

Why though? Beamer's record so far doesn't warrant it when compared with our previous coaches.

Why do you believe Chadwell will be more effective? Did you believe Muschamp would be great too?

That's a very expensive experiment if the AD were to do that today. You'll have big buyouts, coaching changes for existing players, recruitng hits, and so on.

You said it was kept under wraps so we didn’t have two TE coaches…

Either way, it would have raised questions.

And there are a lot of reasons to keep it under wraps for all the parties involved. We will probably never know the exact details, but it certainly wasn't based in random panic.
