Why the Gamecocks come out the biggest winners in expansion............

Forget it that we now have another team ahead of us in the conference in the form of Oklahoma and potentially down the road Texas. Those two obviously gain more than anybody, but among the existing conference members, Columbia is on the northeastern edge of the conference and already establishing an Eastern Seaboard recruiting presence, especially in the Mid Atlantic. Every recruit north of the North/South Carolina line all the way up to the northeast has now heard about this "Super Conference" that is being created. You don't think that is huge for us in recruiting against the ACC and Big 10 in those states ? Most all of the best players are now going to want to go to the SEC. Bring it.

50 Shades of G….garnet. Just go with the black color.

Been a fan for 52 out of 60 years now.

Pretty much 6 decades of misses with garnet.

So, why force it?
Admit you can’t do it and move on.

Been diagnosed as color blind my entire life, but can still distinguish the differences in the “garnets” with our logo on it.

Walk through Academy Sports and look at the shirt and jacket racks. It’s weird seeing the hodgepodge.

No, a color miss probably won’t matter in terms of wins and losses (unless recruits and parents are also turned off by the 50 shades).

Black doesn’t seem to matter nearly as much to folks if it’s off a tad.

Just go Back to Black!

SEC Expansion

So if we take the $ out of the equation, how hard the conference becomes to win and bias of schools not wanting certain schools to join (us with Clemson or a&m with Texas as examples), personally I don’t like adding Oklahoma and Texas. It’s purely not the fit IMO geographically and also culturally. The southeastern conference doesn’t have roots with those 2 schools and they aren’t in the southeast. They are too far away for me to personally drive for a weekend, which I loved about our member schools pre-2012. As Spurrier briefly said the other night, it’s a tradition thing and our history thing. I completely agree and would it’s also a geographical thing too.

Overtime SZN

It’s a channel on YouTube has HS version of last chance you. IlDeion Sanders.
had 3 seasons on there.I think the third is at Jackson st. (Don’t hold to that haven’t gotten that far) There is some random stuff on the channel too. Probably most fun to watch is the first coach white guy to show the work he had been doing in and off the Field

Just fun to watch the coach that doesn’t punt, doesn’t got for pat. Oh yeah, the onside kicker is a girl and it’s not what your picturing as girl onside kicker girl I expected, although this girl is GOOD at onside kicks. She is also the coaches daughter but she earned her spot which is solely onside kicks so whoever is doing should be pretty much

. I agree with some of his concepts but make your opponent earn it down the field. It’s gotta make D the he doesn’t trust his defense even more so when they only get the ball back they only have 40 yards to 20 to the Red Zone either way thier most likely scoring from a return one either way every drive 4Oyds yards get 10 yards and kick the field goal field goal. But at the same time the D are VERY well rested
. But this a Coach and that got a shoutout from Bill Belichick at a ceremony for most high school wins in Arkansas maybe country with 200 he was 216-29-1 Some of that attributed to coach at PC which he went his second season and PC doesn’toffer acholarahips anymore so that volumes to 13-0. He is know Arkansas working at some comepacity. But hopefully dumb enough to put him in charge of all special teams because they get atleast a field goal all day if they just make 10 yards that’s 42 yard field goal. Even then depending on the situation you gotta good punter put inside that

I have to say he is a good coach which but which 99 % don’t take the same approach. It doesn’t work any higher than HS. Tell me a coach that does that at power 5 school and winning any kind of power 5 championship. They liked you’d to believe there are but nope.

Anyways they are good footballl shows as football season.

Braves 🆚 Phillies 7/23/21 Breaking the Tie 😎

Welcome to another edition of Gamecock Central Braves Baseball ⚾️ Chat 💬. I am your host @Pfunk Cock along with a plethora of regular participants in the chat. We are still climbing that mountain 🏔 but this is beginning to remind me is Sisyphus as every time we get that rock 🪨 up the mountain (even record) the damn thing falls back to the bottom (eventual losing streak). 🤔🤔 That Sims’s up the 2021 season this far but the Braves are amazingly still in this race and have a chance to help themselves as tonight the Phillies and Braves are tied for second place behind the Mets in the division and the winner takes sole possession of that second spot and keeps applying pressure to the division leaders that this is a marathon race and the Braves are drafting off your energy expenditure. 😎😎

Tonight we look to “Break The Tie”. The Braves are throwing a resurgent Max Fried tonight. He will bring his magical left arm and his very productive bat as he faces the young dominant arm of Zack Wheeler RHP. Wheeler is a monster on the bump with a very high velocity fastball and then he will buckle knees and paint corners. He is a strikeout pitcher and when he is on his game , contact becomes a problem. Max will attempt to match him pitch to pitch, inning to inning and effort in fielding his position to help carry the team on his back while they scrap to secure runs. This is shaping up to be a pitching duel and the Braves will look to put the Phillies behind them in the standings from this day forth.

FYI: This is what realignment is really all about

CBS sums it up very nicely.... The College Football Game is about to change in a major way.....its not just about the money. Its about WHO is "running" College football. (NCAA gets its wings clipped 30 days ago by the Supreme Ct; now, just 30 days later SEC basically says, WE are taking this thing over)

From the article:
As much as anything else, this power play is about … power. Watch what the SEC does with its version of a 16-team superconference. (It may not even stop there.) With no central NCAA authority, there will be those who follow the SEC's athletic model and those who don't ... or can't, whether financially or otherwise.

"The autonomous conferences can determine who they are by themselves. They don't need any NCAA. They can just make it up as they go," one college consultant told CBS Sports.

If that just means four super conferences, it will continue the progress of what has already been a de facto breakaway by the Power Five. No matter what happens, the SEC might just have become the new NCAA.
