Did you note that in the gaggle presser at media days, Beamer acknowledged that he knows we all talk about uniforms. They monitor the talk. They trail balloon stuff and wait for the reaction. You start a thread on it and they watch. Beamer actually smirked about it. Funny.

I understand why Coach Beamer has had such great success as a recruiter. His pitch to Delp on yesterday at SEC media will be hardto beat. If Delp doesnt commit to is its not for lack of effort.

I find myself even more thankful that Bobo and Friend decided not to stay here. The staff Beamer has put together seems to be doing all the right things and I think those two would have been the turds in the punchbowl.

What is Gamecock Central Members of the Day?

His intro and background was very nice but what he did today was to simply let all who watched his presentation to know how great that USC is, how nice Columbia is and so forth. He simply was doing a selling job for USC for most of his entire presentation. He took this opportunity to push USC with positive statements throughout the presentation. He said that USC had the second highest graduation rate for football players in the conference, mentioned how many players were on the Deans list and the one who was on the Presidents list. He told how many guys (18 I think) on the team that already had their degree and said that 12 more would be receiving their degree in December. And on and on he went. Now if you were a high school player or the parent of a high school player, you would have had to be impressed with what Beamer stated and his enthusiastic presentation. This was his chance to reach players and parents that otherwise would not know him and what he is all about. He simply pushed all the right buttons. And yes, I do believe he will lead us back to the glory days and hopefully more. To be successful in most every job, being a good salesman is at the top of the list.

I also thought it was cool when he mentioned 2 different moms who visited during the camps and one stated that Beamer was the one camp where the zoom video was exactly the same as the on campus visitation, whereas at other schools the zoom and visit were not the same. The other mom stated that the coaches seemed to get along so well. I could go on, but I was more impressed with his selling USC than when he talked about the players. Shane today was simply brilliant!!

Gotta land at least 3 out of the top 5. I feel like this staff recruiting wise can go head to head with Clemson's but sadly we don't have the winning track that Clemson has right now. Got to find some selling points and reel them in!

It was the first time man walked on the moon. I was on my way back to college to finish up my last secession of Summer School before graduation. I didn't get to see the actual landing as it was happening. I watched a replay later that night on TV but gosh it was a momentous event in the history of mankind.

That commitment gives us 16 total and we rank 13th. If the final 7 are highly ranked recruits (5.7 or better) we will finish very well.. Last year was an anomaly due to COVID with only 13 total recruits. The cupboards are not bare for this team. If we do not repeat “all gas and no brakes” - when we are ahead or close (all brakes), we will have a good competitive season.

The university issued its final report today and has recommended the names of the following buildings on campus be changed. This cannot happen without legislative approval pursuant to the Heritage Act, but it's still enraging to me that my alma mater wants to do this. At what point will every building on our campus named for someone who lived or died before the Civil Rights era be deemed offensive and renamed?
