I'm definitely not a sunshine pumper around here, but there are some seriously low-blow posts after Friday's loss. We're all pissed and we are worried about making the dance, but that's not an excuse to point fingers at -- and straight up call out players -- for mistakes and play that didn't live up to "your" expectations.
We need a couple pure shooters - check.
We need a pure point guard who can handle, drive and dish - check.
We need better play from all our point guards - check.
We need to make the big plays at the right times, instead of mistakes - check.
Leave it at that instead of saying that player A (who has bled garnet and black for up to 3 years) is "never going to be" ____. That's not only amateurish, but it's very bad form.
There is a way to be critical and still be humane, understanding that the oldest of these kids is 23 (and most are < 21). Call out a player by name? Ok, but be respectful and remember it's just a kid you're talking about.
