Did Joyner Show us What Satterfield was Hoping for in a Healthy Doty?

Joyner had previously not shown quite that throwing ability so the coaches probably didn't know he'd be capable of it until they got into bowl practices.
He played well. I'm not going to say he's any kind of natural QB. But having a running threat who can throw a bit opens up a lot more offense. I doubt he reads defenses. I mean UNC's defense ranked 89th while playing in ACC. They lost to FSU.

Lol.... Satterfield was never headed for the door. Only in the minds of people like you. He was going to get at least another year no matter what you think.

This. These people thinking we would have had a chance against A&M or Georgia with him are cracking me up. Or Mizzou for that matter. We simply couldn't block them.

Putting him in for THIS game worked. Just be happy about it.

Our 3 best offensive performance were when we had 2+ weeks to prep - EIU, Florida, and UNC. Every other game was a struggled to get 14+ points and never scored over 30 in a single game. That’s not coincidence.
Right now I am going to not post anything negative about our staff as it serves no good purpose. If Beamer, Rattler and Stogner are good with Satterfield in 2022, who am I to question their wisdom.

Nope. I love calling out biased idiots like you.

How stupid do you feel now?

From the Mack Brown thread:
I stand by it. Wanna know why? Because that was one of THREE good games your husband has called all year. And you know it.

Disagree? Then tell me all the games where he's had good gameplans and made good, consistent play calls that were tailored to the strengths of his available players. I'll wait....

Actually it really is a coincidence. The coincidence is that those are the three teams whose defensive lines couldn't or wouldn't dominate our OL. Most everyone can see that. Yes, even Vanderbilt lived in our backfield. So did Troy for most of the game.

Next year, God willing, we're going to have a quarterback that can actually get the ball out of his hand in a reasonable amount of time. That's going to make our offensive line look like all Americans and Satterfield look like a genius. Or at least not nearly as bad as they looked for most of this past season.

Having your best performances being with more time to prepare doesn't prove you're a bad coach, if anything that shows your have more coaching talent than skilled players. Don't believe me? Spurrier lost one opener when he was here.

But Spurrier’s O didn’t suck in 7-9 other games. When the complaints that the O is too complex for the players than the fact when they get 2-3 times more time to study it is the only way to have success.

Just a waste of time. We will be back here in a year and we will have wasted Bell, Rattler and the rest of the O talent and they’ll still defend keeping this ineffective OC because for a half he didn’t suck.
Odd are we won’t see the same level next year. Rattler’s experience and prior coaching should compensate for the play calling. The problem is going to be once he’s gone and we have project QBs who have received no coaching.

We used to brag about how we could not lose a game if Spurrier had a month to prepare. I remember that being said over and over.

Some of these guys here crack me up with how they come up with their logic and convince themselves that what they already believe is true.

What's the over-under on wins next year before some of them suffer an emotional breakdown due to cognitive dissonance?

Yeah Troy, Vandy, and ECU had stellar DL and OL. What about Missouri who couldn’t stop the run all year but we sucked to run vs them. Only got 28 because of last minute TDs when they went more prevent. Stop blaming the players that had leading SEC rusher a year ago and start holding the highly paid OC accountable.

Did you remember Spurrier being unable to gain 10 yards in 3 quarters? Spurrier didn’t suck for 9 games and was only good if given extra time. What’s laughable is how y’all can have straight facts in front of your face and bare your head in the sand instead of admitting it.

Holy hell I can't even.... Your answering your own question!

We couldn't block even a DL that wasn't stellar as evidenced by the games. Whether it was coaching changes or matchup changes or just a finally finding some "want to" we were able to play better against the teams that we won over.

I'm not even going over the difference between last year and this year for the 1,000th time. Everything was different.

In fact one of the biggest reasons we dominated North Carolina the other day... It's the same reason we had a good rushing attack last year. A healthy Kevin Harris. This was the first game this year where he looked like he did last year. What a difference!

Without his performance we may not beat North Carolina. How many yards did he gain again?

Spurrier also had some of the best players to ever wear garnet and black on his teams! Not to mention he is a bona fide Hall of Fame coach. No one's saying Satterfield is that. We're just saying he deserves another year to prove his worth....damn!

That's the facts that you seem to be ignoring.

You said we scored because our OL was better than their DL in 3 games.

“The coincidence is that those are the three teams whose defensive lines couldn't or wouldn't dominate our OL.”

The facts and stats don’t agree with that. Florida and UNC are more talented and higher ranked than teams we sucked against. Sorry but you can’t deny facts even if you want to keep excusing Satt’s failures.

Yeah I mean it couldn’t have anything to do with the most productive back we had early in the season just kept disappearing and not playing for games at a time.

And yeah I remember some awful offensive games from spurriers teams. I said right there in Auburn's stadium and watched us lose 45 to 7 because we didn't have a quarterback. Sound familiar?

We finally got that touchdown at the end of the game when Sydney Rice caught one over the middle and ran for about 50 yards right towards me in the end zone. I almost broke my drunk ass hand banging on that metal seat I was so happy that we at least scored. God that was an awful trip.

And what we are saying Is another year of a shitty OC is going to ruin the program and possibly doom Beamer just like it did WM. Find another OC ranked 110+ in year one at a P5 that ever came back to be worth a damn? Spoiler, you can’t.

Was reported on multiple sites and JB and Goldwater show. Just have to actually be willing to listen to the non sunshine only pumpers.
Okay. A sports talk show trying to explain why our offense is struggling. Is that the same as "if it was on the internet, it must be true"? I'm sure they interviewed someone on our staff or one of our players who confirmed the "this NFL offense is too complicated for us poor college athletes." 🤣 🤣🤣

That doesn't even make sense. Like I said maybe we just found some "want to." What kind of "higher rankings" are you referring to? Recruiting rankings?

That's just nonsense and you know it.

The proof was on the field We beat those teams squarely.

That's an assumption you're making about the difference between our success and failure, it's in no way something you know. The only thing you know is that our offense didn't do great in the other games. We scored 28 against Missouri and honestly had more there we could've had if Brown did a better job of using the pocket to help the pass blocking. Our OL looked better in every game after the BYE than they liked before, and outside of the FCS team we played that's when all of our best offensive games happened. Auburn has far and away a better DL than Vandy and I mean they might as well play a different sport, but Vandy disrupted us far more, so that's a much more compelling factor.

1 not 7-9 in a season. Good try though

Not in all of those seasons, but he never inherited something with this much bad talent, psyches, etc.

Your logic is clearly what makes no sense and you can’t defend that stupidity about our OL being better than Florida but not Vandy.

What's there to defend? I couldn't explain it then and I can't now. They just woke up that day drinking acid and spitting nails.

I probably put it on the fact that Florida had given up on its coach and season more than much of anything else.
