Game thread - Clemson

Vann wasn’t ready to make a play on the ball. You could see on the big board he didn’t even try to get his hands up. He’s great when he’s open but he’s not a play maker who is going to get you those kind of balls.
If you have time go back and watch the defender push him. He was about to go up. It’s clear as day. The shove is why he didn’t get his arms up and jump to make a play on the ball. It was a subtle push by the defender and a good play by him. But that’s absolutely why Vann didn’t make a play on it. Not saying he makes the catch. Though he did make a catch like that against UGA.

Brown is a Gamecock and plays hard.

He's limited and he's running for his life.

Clemson's defense is dominating the game as I thought they would.

Vann hasn’t fought for a ball all year and he sure wasn’t fighting for a flag on the play either. He’s a complementary receiver not a main guy.

Again, he caught one like that against UGA. So he did do it at least once. He was asking for the flag as soon as he got pushed. It’s not the refs job to assume whether he would make the play or not. He’s gotta throw the flag. You aren’t giving Vann enough credit anyway.

I had no idea the middle of our field was made of lava. That's has to be why we refuse to throw a slant over the middle, right?

If Clemson had a decent QB they'd be up by 5 scores. I'm not going to let this ruin my night, because I expected this to happen and it doesn't take away that this team won twice as many games as I thought they would. But man I despise Clemson and it makes me angry that we aren't going to beat them for another generation.

I wish some of you naysayers would just turn it off and go to bed. There is a second half to play. Bama didn’t look good and won. We have usually played better in the second half. Beamer has done a great job with what he was given. He is smart. He will make changes as necessary after the season is over. He will recruit well too. We knew we would suck this year and we have. But we were not supposed to beat Auburn or Florida We will be better in the future just give the man a chance

If Beamer drags his feet in making changes on his offensive staff, does Tanner or whoever actually hired Shane have the fortitude to gently, but firmly, inform him it is in his best interest and the future of the football program to do so? Our offense came into this game at 111th in Total Offense out of 130 teams. I've a hunch that we are not going to be higher or much higher than that after this game.

Anybody that knows football and looks at clemson strength and our weakness fiqured this would happen....does not take away this season is a success!!

He’s covering for Brown’s piss ass decision to throw it into double coverage.

It’s actually simple. We know we can’t run it behind our soft OL. So, run toss sweeps and block with our TEs and throw some dang screens. Vann is done. He shouldn’t even be out there. He can not get a step in Clemson’s CBs. Also run five wide and run Brown. Quit being baby’s. Brown is like 230lbs. Be a man and get five yards. Why have we went away from JuJu in the offense? So many freaking questions I have for coach Satt.

Florida and Auburn have been putrid at times as well.

Guys we ain’t winning. And that’s okay. Clemson is trying to be a good program. We’re just trying to running sport for students to have an outlet for their talents.

Honestly we shouldn’t be playing teams like Clemson or Georgia. They care and we don’t. Maybe if we were an FCS school we’d have success. Playing against more likeminded programs would be good IMO.
That’s one of the most ignorant statements I’ve seen in a while. Why would you want to see football like that. There are plenty of games you can watch with that level of competition to satisfy that need. That kind of defeatist attitude is TOXIC and frankly sounds like something a Clemson fan would say imo…

It’s gonna take several recruiting classes to get to where we need to be

Satterfield absolutely hates screens, I think I've seen us run like two of them all year. Seems like the obvious solution with a piss-poor OL and a fast pass rush, but what do I know.

You right. We got this

Our receivers can’t block. Hard to run a screen when you have no physicality on the edge.

I just wish Colton could have got in some game this year. I’m telling you right now, the guy coming in next year is no better than what we got now. We need to go all out on UCF’s QB that is transferring. I’m sure we will not even try.

So who you putting in there instead of Vann? If our best WR can’t get a step on them, which one is going to? I mean…it’s actually not as easy as just saying throw to the TEs and have it work you know?

Shane is going to fire Satterfield this year. Then next year we'll show minor improvement on offense while the defense takes a step back. So we'll be in the same place next year.
