You're aiming too high when you say "elite". We won't be that. Let's start with competitive, and maybe qualifying for a good bowl.

If you build a program up to "very good", then you can be on the edge of elite on years when the stars align. That's the cap for a non-blueblood.

Don't forget they beat us last year too.

But this is one of those situations where someone will ask "what was their record" if the head to head doesn't suit them. And "who won the game" when it does.

Ultimately it was one game difference. Missouri didn't finish close games last year and also got a little unlucky. We lost to Georgia at the end. We lost to Kentucky at the end in such a bad way that they changed the rules. (Snap over the UK punter's head, ball went from the 40 all the way back to inside the 5. Punter picks up the ball. Our player thinks he is going to run and tries to tackle him. He turns and tries to kick and we get a running into the kicker penalty about 40 yards behind LOS)

If one team wins the head-to-head and the other had a better record by one game, that's pretty much a pick-em unless the head to head was a total beatdown.

Head to head = better. All time = better. SEC division championships = better. I can keep going on. I really don’t want to be a troll but when you guys start talking about how you’re “offended” to lose to us it’s ridiculous.

It's their site. What did you expect to read when you came here? They are saying specultive things about where they think their program should be if they had better coaching. SC fans tend to overvalue the quality / number of good local recruits and underestimate the advantage of being the only major program in a state. But the achievements you compare were done at Pinkel's peak as one of the top 2 coaches in program history.

Look at it this way: if we trade coaches for yesterday's game, we still win. If we trade coaches for the next 3 years, we would be screwed.

We have become Vandy. Nobody hates Vandy either.

Both Vandy and us understand the role of a cannon fodder program. The SEC money keeps rolling in by taking the continual beatdowns by the true SEC teams. Sadly It’s who we are.
