HIRE FREEZE, NOW!!!

You mean the guy who is 8-0 right now and owns a win this year over Napier?
The same- 8-0 because he has SEC talent at QB playing against Sun Belt teams.

He does pretty well when he has better talent than everyone around him because he bought it or because a transfer who is an abnormal talent in relation to the rest of the conference falls in his lap. A lot of people don’t seem to know much about his team... they have their “Cam Newton” right now... Can’t believe Auburn let this guy get away and kept Bo Nix instead (??) but it sure worked out well for Liberty! He may win the Heisman this year- basically their whole offense... Freeze will jump ship and capitalize on this success this year if he is smart. App State and La will catch up/ pass them again quick when this QB leaves.

Saw a college football analyst on YouTube earlier today who said you would be surprised at how many prominent head coaches are interested in the South Carolina job. Of course he did’nt name names, but I tend to trust this guys opinion. I hope we get this right.
Was it the guy that said that a coach reached out to him about the SC job and he wasn’t even an analyst?

We need to win, NOW!!!
Scandals and resignation[edit]
In January 2016, the NCAA charged Ole Miss with numerous recruiting violations. An investigation turned up evidence that Ole Miss employees and boosters arranged numerous "impermissible benefits" for players, such as car loans and cash. At least one recruit was suspected of getting help on his college entrance exam.[21]

The investigation reopened soon after star offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil admitted taking money from one of Freeze's assistants.[22] In February 2017—three months after suffering its first losing season since the year Freeze arrived—Ole Miss withdrew from bowl consideration for the upcoming season. The move came on the same day that the NCAA sent an updated notice of allegations charging the Rebels with eight additional violations. Most seriously, it accused Freeze of not monitoring his assistants, and also accused Ole Miss of not properly controlling the program.[21]

On July 13, 2017, Freeze's predecessor, Houston Nutt, sued Ole Miss for defamation, contending that Freeze and school officials falsely blamed him for the violations. As part of discovery for the lawsuit, Nutt's attorneys filed a Freedom of Information Act request for calls Freeze made on his university-issued cell phone during January 2016. Nutt's attorneys contended that Freeze and others at Ole Miss leaked information to the press as part of an effort to smear their client.[23]

While reviewing those records, Nutt's attorneys discovered a call to a number associated with a female escort service, and alerted Ole Miss officials about it. Freeze claimed it was a misdialed number.[24] School officials investigated, and discovered what they later described as "a concerning pattern" of similar calls dating back to shortly after he arrived in Oxford.[25] On July 20, chancellor Jeff Vitter and athletic director Ross Bjork gave Freeze an ultimatum: resign or be fired for violating the morals clause of his contract. Freeze opted to resign; offensive coordinator Matt Luke was named interim coach.[5]

In February 2019, the NCAA punished the Ole Miss football team for the recruiting and academic violations committed under both Nutt and Freeze. The punishments included a two-year postseason ban, three years of probation, and a four-year ban on some scholarships. As well, the NCAA forced Ole Miss to vacate 33 wins from 2010 to 2016. As a result, 27 of Freeze's wins were stripped from the books; only the 2015 season was unaffected. His record at Ole Miss is now officially 12–25; it was 39–25 on the field.[4]

Thats right. In fact Napier beat Freeze 35-14 in 2019.
Right. Forget Freeze. Freeze is crap. Jump on Napier. Or better still, forget Napier and jump on that boy down at Coastal since he HAS beaten Napier this year. Ain't that right? And if N.C. State beats presently undefeated Liberty, let's add Doeren to the mix.😆

Actually they are 4th, but only one game out of first. Texas started rough but has righted the ship. All they have to do is finish second to get into that championship game and should be favored in every remaining game. So, I'll stick with my original statement. Don't get me wrong, I hate everything about them. I despise them right up there with UPC and Notre Dame. But in Ehlinger, they have a weapon no one else out there has. And so what if they don't win it? If Herman gets fired, it won't be this year unless they collapse completely. And Herman ain't coming anyway, but why would we want him if he can't win at Texas? In that case, it would be like hiring Muschamp all over again.

So they are in 5th place, Oklahoma is in 4th and since they beat them head to head they hold the tie breaker over Texas.

Texas was down to Texas Tech by 21 in the 4th qtr and was able to tie it up and win in overtime. This is a Texas Tech team that is 2-5 and awful. They also only beat Baylor, who is 1-5 and even worse that TT by 11, it wasn’t a particulary inspiring game. They also lost to both TCU and Oklahoma. Granted they beat OkSt.

But anyone who thinks Herman’s tenure there has been a good one is just wrong. The people at Texas are very skeptical of him and a good bit of that is due his issues off the field. He is arrogant, and doesn’t mesh well with donors etc. He has a culture problem in the locker room.

The best OL to come out of Texas in years left the state this cycle due to the culture issues. Herman does dumb things, like flip off a live feed TV camera during signing day. Just is not a particularly mature individual that you would believe is good at imparting wisdom and values to young people.

Believe what you want but when a guy has his seat hot at Texas, do you really believe he has what it takes to win at SCAR?

I agree with your second sentence. Everything else is blither.

Actually, they are tied for fourth but don't own the tie-breaker with Oklahoma. Tie-breakers have not

Tied for fourth. The tie-breaker doesn't affect that. If his tenure had been "good", as some count good, then his name would not even be coming up in connection with us or anyone else. But casting him as fetid chopped liver isn't exactly accurate, either. He is solid, even if he hasn't proven to be the wunderkind people first thought. I'm not pitching for him. I don't care about him. But I like for accuracy to prevail in these discussions.

He won’t be good for SCAR, he is not a great HC. He is in year 5 and they are not really any better now than they were in year 2.

Did you not see me say I'm not pitching for him? Did you not see me say I don't care about him? I'll talk about anything you want, but you need to save your argumentative energies for someone who is advocating him. My objective is realistic and fair assessment of what a person is or isn't.

We have talent on the team. This isn’t like what Spurrier left us with no defensive line to speak of. The most pivotal position in football. Losing our top 9 committed prospects on a recruiting board after the “2 to 3 years” comment. This team has not been developed properly and mostly bc Muschamp couldn’t afford to redshirt players and bc his assistants have failed to develop players. All falls on Muschamp. We have a lot better crop of young players this time around. So it makes sense. (Before the haters troll in, no one wanted this job after the citadel loss)

Freeze just said he'd like to get back in a power 5 conference. I believe he was talking about our opening.

I think the word you were looking for was "blather", a noun that fits the context. No adjective works as "blither" was used in his sentence. That wasn't you who did that, was it?
Start here: look up some synonyms for “Blather”. Let me know what you find...

I'm still a little amazed that more people aren't pushing for Chadwell. He's had success everywhere, knows the state well, and he has an extremely strong rapport with his team. Yes, he does lack P5 experience, but in my opinion, the fact that he has 11 years experience as a head coach at the college level is stronger than with a few years of coordinator experience or one or two years as a head coach at the P5 level. He has demonstrated time and time again that he can make decisions that will help his team. There is a bit of a red flag with some NCAA things, but everything I've read indicates Chadwell wasn't directly involved with the wrongdoings.

Whether I agree with you or not, at least you got us back on point.

His team was fun to watch today. Well-coached, played with confidence and never seemed to get rattled. I miss those days.
