When the statement is that stupid, yes I do!
Sorta like modern day Sherman’s?They'll move somewhere else after they destroy Texas. Yankees and people from California just move all over the country destroying everything in their path. They'll complain about how its not the same as back home and move again.

This is true however certain individuals seem to focus on the items that present less than 25% of the power that failed as opposed to the source of 56% of their power which also failed. This is intentional for two reasons:
1) It doesn’t fit their narrative
2) They know their base won’t put any effort into finding out the truth and if they somehow stumble across the facts they’ll dismiss them because they don’t fit the narrative.
Okay it was just kinda weird people being upset/afraid of racial diversityNothing is. If you read a later post by him, he is liking the idea as a boon for democrats.
Green energy is not even a thing yet. But AOC is correct. So I see where politically AOC is saying if Texas had invested in green energy, then none of the issues they are dealing with right now would have happened. All this is a reason for green new deal. So my question is, it seems everything went bad when solar panels and wind turbines froze up, literally. Are those not considered renewable sources of energy and therefore “green” energy? If so doesn’t that make her argument completely idiotic? Not trying to get a political issue going but correct me please if I am wrong about wind turbines and solar panels being green sources of energy. Maybe I am wrong there. I don’t truly follow that type of stuff all to closely.
Good points.Winterizing something in Texas makes about as much sense as winterizing something in South Carolina. Typically it doesn't get that cold so those areas don't prepare for the winter like that.
Then you must not be listening. Or you think women never have anything intelligent to say. Either way you are wrong.
Why now you are talkin bout DEAD FISH” Rahm Emanuel !“You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. I mean, it's an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before.” - Rahm Emmanuel. But it is really a Saul Alinsky original.

My only post on this. I think people on social media are the scum of the earth.
Instead of just praying for these people who lost power for several days. No, they behind a fake name on message board ,Facebook, or twitter make everything political. The 24 hours "news" channels are the worst. How can we make this tragedy benefit our side? Beto O'Rourke goes on MSNBC, and the Governor of Texas goes on Sean Hannity. Wind is to blame , Solar is to blame , coal is to blame. The Republicans are to blame, the Democrats are to blame. How about the weather was terrible and that is to blame.
Well social media did get a guy out of Cancun and loading water in people’s car for photo ops so it isn’t all bad.My only post on this. I think people on social media are the scum of the earth.

This storm impacted the entire state and once they got caught with their pants down, the federal government could do little to help their grid since it’s literally a Texas one.
Is this true? No link, since it was a radio show, but this comment was being dismissed as false this morning on a talk show.
Not going to get too political here, but the only reason why Beto kept is close is he outspent Cruz 2-1. I believe it was something to the tune of $80M to $38M.I'm conservative but the ramifications of Cruz's trip may end up being catastrophic for Republicans. He barely won a close race over Beto. By the time he is up for re-election the demographics in once reliably red Texas are going to move towards blue. Californians are moving to Texas and bringing their politics with them at an alarming rate.
The loss of life in Texas is tragic. The political ramifications are going to be resoundingly bad as well. Double whammy.

It's not just this power grid issue. As I alluded to earlier, it's on a multitude of issues. As long as one-party dominates, there's no incentive by incumbent politicians to improve the quality of life for his/her constituents.
So? You can bet that Texas will be dumping a ton again. They are bound to be smelling blood there, especially with Cruz.
Look at this past Senate race. Hegar had a fair amount of steam and lost by 10 points. Like Beto I believe she raised more money and still lost.
Texas has an independent power grid.
The answer to that is they opted to be on their own. It is not that they couldn’t have accessed or shared power with the other grids but that they chose to create their own grid so they could deregulate. As long as they were on the national grid there were federal regulations they would have to abide by so they removed themselves in order to allow the private energy companies to run under their own guidelines.Independent, yes. The idea being argued his morning was if they were an isolated one. Meaning, one of the arguments was that no one could help texas because they (foolishly) isolated themselves to their own grid.
From my understanding it does not cross state lines.Independent, yes. The idea being argued his morning was if they were an isolated one. Meaning, one of the arguments was that no one could help texas because they (foolishly) isolated themselves to their own grid.
They are not physically isolated. They have very limited connections to both the eastern power grid as well as the power grid for Mexico. However those connections are not enough to make any real impact as they only allow about 1200 megawatts a day which is about 3% of what Texas lost. They were also hampered by the fact that the midwestern states were also having issues so the capacity to share from the east grid was limited even more as they were already sharing with the western grid.Okay, dont think I'm explaining myself well. I know texas went independent so they could manage their own grid. They make their own rules.
The discussion was, in times of crisis, if power could be shared physically between the texas grid and the neighboring grids.
In this crisis, it's been said that other grids couldnt help them even if they wanted to because texas was physically separated. The contention of the discussion this morning was that Texas is not physically isolated.
So did Harrison in SC. You never know but "Ted's Excellent Adventure" may be hard to overcome. He has four years to restore himself. A lot can happen that can swing the pendulum back red.
If this was an isolated issue you are probably right but for Cruz it is just a continuation of a regrettable 2021.Yeah...four years is an eternity in politics. What he did was extremely tone deaf, but he has plenty of time to offset it.

Imagine if h Biden got the same treatment for flying on AF2 to go make billion dollar deals on behalf of the big guy. It’s gets better and better for Cruz,if this is accurate.

That argument isn’t going to work. Images of someone standing up and disagreeing in Congress isn’t going to outweigh the months of public discussion and then the actions that followed. I get there is a desire to just minimize it as politics as usual but the level of escalation in the months leading up to the embarrassment isn’t going to be easily forgotten or ignored when election time rolls around again. What else did he do that Dems haven't also done?
This is precisely why liberal controlled cities and states are dumpster fires.
It also disregards that Republican controlled states are typically have the highest poverty levels and the lowest education levels. This is simply false and is really a dumb talking point with little thought put into it. For every dem run city like Chicago, Detroit or Baltimore there are cities like Charlotte, Austin, Raleigh, Indy etc that are flourishing cities on the come up.
