Yeah.....Fire Calvi!Actually, there are so many similarities in the two teams, it's ridiculous. Almost identical circumstances throughout the year.
* Both fell flat on their faces against CU, only to reel off winning streaks following.
* Both were within one game of the conference title.
* Both had a decent 1 and 2 starter with questions beyond that. Even deep into the post season.
* Both teams didn't know who the closer was until the last half of the season.
* Both teams fielded very well, and lost games due to lack of one clutch hit. (Until the NCAAT for 2010)
* Both teams went 0-2 in Hoover.
* Overall records 43-15 (21-9), 42-15 (20-9). Only difference was a canceled game due to weather.
It's uncanny. Wish we could get the same result.
You and Hoovers have something in common...We're gonna take Hoover by storm!!
This thread invites comparison and I didn't start it.This team will stand on its own merits. No need for a comparison.
An out is an out when the play is made.An out is an out.
Outside of a rough showing in Hoover, this team was as good defensively as USC has ever had. In fact, they were on the verge of setting a school record for fielding percentage until Hoover.Pitching and defense on that team were more reliable - much more.
you may be right, but to the average fans, you are only as good as your last outing...Outside of a rough showing in Hoover, this team was as good defensively as USC has ever had. In fact, they were on the verge of setting a school record for fielding percentage until Hoover.
True.you may be right, but to the average fans, you are only as good as your last outing...
I guess one interpretation of that is that, by exercising our usual approach to Hoover, this team lost its statistical distinction, not to mention the more important top 8 seeding. But it's all about winning, and every important comparison between this team and the 2010 team will be settled soon.Outside of a rough showing in Hoover, this team was as good defensively as USC has ever had.
