I'm surprised teams like Duke, who aren't traditional powers but have a ton of wealthy alumni, can't seem to keep their players or make some noise in the portal. Their starting QB and RB were both in the portal skipping the bowl game. Together, they accounted for 93% of Duke's offense. Same thing happened with their QB Riley Leonard last year. Now he's a ND. Must just spend all their NIL on basketball.

Lane Kiffin is an unlikeable/strange coach, but that Ole Miss are MUCH better/talented than the likes of SMU or Indiana. They are the only team that should have had any complaint about not getting in. I could see them beating any team not named Ohio State or Oregon on a neutral field.

Yep. You have no reason at all to complain if you had 3 losses with one being to a terrible 4-8 team at home.

But the two best wins UGA(by18 points) and USC (by 24 points). Florida at the end of the season was not a "bad" loss. Ole miss is the only team that was left out than could have challenged the top 4-5 teams. Every other team that didn't make it would have gotten blown out.
