I have a Casio G Shock. Awesome looking watch and keeps great time. Never had a “minutes” problem out of it.

Wore a Tag Heuer stainless watch for I guess 25 years in all my travels and it never failed me...just had to put a battery once in a while. A Movado as a dress watch.Planning to buy my first "luxury" watch. Anybody got suggestions - good or bad. Experiences?
Thanks! GO COCKS! BEAT UNC!

What do you do at night?
stay up until I pass out of drinking beer...
Actually, I use the moon's position to tell time...
Don't consider myself an enthusiast, but I have a watches by Rolex, Tissot, Seiko, Movado and a Fitbit. I wear my fitbit 98% of the time.
That said, if you are looking for a moderately priced luxury watch, I'd consider Shinola. They are American made in Detroit and are a nice looking, classicly designed watch. If interested, see link below:

Like everything Shinola makes, they are vastly over priced. Also, every watch that I have seen is a quartz as opposed to automatic. The OP wants a Luxury watch, not an expensive quartz model. For the same money, he could get either a Tisssot or Hamilton, Swiss made automatic, which is considered a higher standard than Shinola. Sorry, bad advice/
I don’t have one so I can’t speak to the quality, but the posts above are questioning the quality so I yield to those who seem to be in the know. I have friend that has one and he likes it... that’s the extent of my knowledge on Shinola quality. I do think they are very nice looking watches. Like any big purchase, do your homework.I've been thinking about jumping on the Shinola train. They do have a really thick face is my only concern. Do you think they are a quality product?

I like IWC a bunch. Would love a Big Pilot 5002 - but that's REAL cabbage to me.
I like the Mark XVII & XVII
Then there's Grand Seiko...
