I'm in the trucking industry. There's been a shortage of drivers for quite some time. And with port expansions and larger ships coming to port, it's only getting worse. My fleet of drivers is aging and we rarely see drivers coming in looking for a job even tho we pay more than just about anybody. We're a small company running 10 trucks full time and 2 part time. I could run 5 times that tomorrow if the drivers were there. They ain't. So when our drivers age out, I will close the doors and be done. Until then, I'll pick and choose the best freight to haul. Reefer containers (refridgerated) ain't one of them because they have to be babysitted. With so much work out there, better to run something easier that pays just as well. Pretty safe bet I'm not alone.
