Rock Hill
Looking for something we can do with the kids since they have off this week. We live in Rock Hill and want to do something different. Wife says Mayberry (Mt Airy) but I am not sure they like The Andy Grifith Show. I am thinking of something within a couple of hours drive.

Biltmore Estate near Asheville, then maybe drive on up to Cataloochee and you might get to see some of the elk up there.
Biltmore Estate - I've been there many times, but it's still one of my favorite places to visit.

zoo

I am sure you have been to the zoo...but that is always a fun trip and then go into some of the Gamecock stores.

Go to Columbia but approach it as visiting a city, not from a "game day" perspective....zoo, state musem, edventure, state house, parks, downtown, lots of restaurant options, nature.....good hotel choices and a couple of b&b's.

This State Park is very close to Rock Hill and maybe you've been there but...it's very interesting, historical and beautiful. A very unique and good day trip from Rock Hill - Landsford Canal State Park.

A large moved and re-built log cabin there, picnic tables, a place to kayak, canoe or fish off-shore on or by the Catawba River. 1.5 mile educational Interpretive walking trail describing the historical "Canal" and how, when and why it was built during the early 1800's. In the month of May, it has the greatest display "Rocky Shoals Spider LiIlies" in the world.

Both times I've been, there has been a local pair of Eagles that usually can be seen. The 1st siting of an eagle that I've seen in SC.

Landsford Canal State Park

Took our grandkids to The Gorge zip line adventure in Saluda, NC last year. Everyone had a blast. Takes about 4 hours to complete.

I took two kiddies to Biltmore a long time ago. They had the bedrooms closed off with a velvet rope. I turned to chase one daughter down, turned around and other daughter had become a living part of one of the bedrooms. Gosh I miss those days of pretending I didn't know who those little girls belonged to.
