I have zero expertise here though that's what I gathered as well. Additionally with the system being overwhelmed this has lead to deaths which under normal circumstances can be prevented (heart attacks, strokes, etc)

What you are saying cannot be proved, nor disproved. We have absolutely no idea at all how many people died from COVID-19, or any other disease or illness in China.
China has 1.4 billion people, and we have 340 million people. Of course China has had more COVID-19 deaths than US. But again, no one can prove it. China is not at all trustworthy.

Just simple math Tom. So for you and a so clock here is the simple math. Right this minute CNN reports 9132 deaths over 321,762 confirmed cases. So 9132 / 321,762 = 2.838123%

You missed my point. If there is no way of knowing the number of people who actually have the virus then how can the death rate be determined? Also, how many have died due to coronavirus vs with coronavirus? There are way too many variables to just plug numbers in a calculator and spot out a death rate.
Tom, you win. It is my simple assumption and my simple math that the CDC is reporting deaths from Covid-19 infected people. Maybe some died from car accidents on way home after finding out they had the virus from a reputable test received.
My post was referencing an article posted here a few days ago which stated that patients who died after testing positive for covid19 were listed as covid19 deaths, whether that is what ultimately caused their death or not. I hope we all agree that there have already been too many deaths and the death rate is too high, no matter where the actual number lands.
The same type of thing has been done to calculate gun violence and deaths where they include suicides and justified police action/deaths in the statistics.

I'm rather sure that officially they don't count, but i do believe that any death cause by illness, accident, or injury which could have been treated successfully, but because of the lack of equipment, medicine or medical personnel caused by the the pandemic, should be counted as deaths caused by the pandemic, even though they were not caused by the virus itself...

For decades we've had conservative nut jobs (politicians and pearl-clutching idiots) trying to get Howard Stern off the air, and also trying to get the FCC to fine every show out of existence when "bad" language was used. Or when Ellen came out on her show. Even this year, over 15 years after the Nipplegate Super Bowl performance (one of the best episodes of morons getting offended), these snowflakes were trying to get the FCC to go to work on this year's Super Bowl performance.
