Because he didn't hire him. Giving him an extension and a new contract last year wasn't a difficult decision to make. Martin wanted to stay and we had just experienced a school record in wins. It made no sense to start over with a new basketball coach. The bottom line is that Tanner's only had 2 major coaching decisions during his tenure: Baseball & Football. These are the 2 hires he should be graded on.
Not that I think Tanner is doing a bad job, because I don't. But where was Martin going? Don't remember anything about him leaving.
