South Carolina vs Mississippi State (Game 2)

Pitiful is upperclassmen that can't find the strike zone giving up free passes and constantly pitching behind an account. Sanders is a freshman that is in the strike zone a little bit too much but he will learn. I'm 100% behind this young man. Let's just hope now the bats can respond and pick him up.

The wind is blowing like crazy from left to right. I would put all of our left handed bats in but nope we only have two in the lineup.

Well that was just fantastic. Three K’s. Going to be another long afternoon for us gamecock fans.

What do you know? All three batters looking to pull the ball regardless of where it’s pitched. Kingston and his “Major League” approach to analytics, exit velocity, launch angle, is a joke.

2 things, we only have a couple more options which includes a switch hitter. And most importantly, if you can't make contact, HR's are impossible 😏

The verdict on Kingston draws near. Its been in on Tanner. Its in on our sorry President. And sadly its probably in on our season. No way we host.

I believe this is a mental issue with our team. The majority of our players that are on the field are upperclassmen and are eligible to go in the draft this year. Most of them know they will have limited careers in the minors. They've played way too much baseball growing up and I believe the love of the game has passed by most of them. They don't forget how to hit or field the baseball. I believe they just find themselves going through the motions. Please understand I'm not knocking these players I believe it's just a happens when playing to much baseball prior to college. Just ask an 8 year old how many baseball games they've already played in their life. It will amaze you.

Outside of our usual 1 hit or 3 hit game the shocking thing to me has been our inaccuracy on the outfield to home throws. They're never close. Nothing at all like our 2010-13 teams.

Huh? Seems there's at least 8 other SEC teams that don't have this problem.

I seem to recall someone on here asking if Kingston was safe/if fans were happy with him and a certain group of posters attacked the idea that Kingston was anything but a huge success here. Wonder how they feel about that now?

I still say it takes 5 years for a baseball coach but this hitting slump is very concerning. We literally trot the same lineup out there which tells me the rest of the team must be absolutely pathetic at hitting. Not hosting in year 4 should be enough for the seat to get really warm but hey...we're Carolina. Winning doesn't matter here.

Every batter that 2nd inning went down 0-2 or 1-2. Just can't make solid contact. All we do is foul off good pitches. This lineup just can't not hit. Time to play other players. We have the worst 7-8-9 batters in the nation

5-0...might wanna change pitchers but thats just my non coaching view. This one is over.

Right about now, I’m remembering that a ton of us wanted to see if Chris Lemonis would replace Holbrook. I wonder how we would be in Year 4 with him?

At least Bama and Kentucky are losing. Probably who we are competing against to make the NCAA tourney at this point.

Thru 4...9k’s in 16 AB’s.....cant hit the ball and some expect us to host....lucky to make the tourney???????? We are in some kind of slump I’ve never seen.
