Greetings GamecockCentral family. Wes and I have partnered together to bring the forum a special deal for the upcoming football season. I am the General Manager of the Hyatt Place Columbia Harbison, and we have worked out a special deal for GCC members.
For the entire football season, GCC members will receive a special rate of $119 for ANY USC game (including UGA, UT, TA&M) [special note: the season opener is actually already sold out]. In addition to the special rate, we have removed any minimum night stay restriction. For comparison, our standard rates during the season are $159-$239, and require a minimum of 2 nights.
For those who don’t know me, I have worked/lived in Columbia my entire life. I graduate USC in 2005. As a senior, I actually assisted Shoe with some freelance work for the site (under the name Vistagamecock). In Spring 2005 I was in the media room under the stadium expecting to meet an assistant coach when Steve Spurrier came in. Watching him tell stories is one of my most cherished stories. After college I moved back into the hotel industry, where I have been ever since. I took over the Hyatt Place in 2015. Last year Wes and I tried to work something out, but our hotel was under renovation, so I was hesitant to put my name on it.
The hotel is located just off I-26 on Lake Murray Boulevard, next to the Cracker Barrel. We are one exit from Harbison Blvd, and 8 miles north of the stadium. Our rooms are very spacious, and every room includes a pull-out sofa. We have King or Double Queen rooms available that sleep up to 5 people comfortably. We have complimentary breakfast each morning. We also have 24/7 food service, a grab-and-go pantry, along with Starbucks and bar service in the lobby. We have an outdoor pool, along with an on-site cardio facility. We also partner with Muv Fitness (formerly Gold’s Gym), where our guests get free access to their gym.
I am really excited about this opportunity. It was a great success last time, and I am optimistic that this year it will be better for everyone. Please know that we are currently sold out for the home opener, but we have availability for the remaining games.
