The Ban

If you believe you want the government and politicians banning things for the sake of banning things, if you believe that is their role and they are best positioned to tell you what you can look at and see, then you should support them banning apps you don’t like.

if you want to actually solve the problem of data privacy, then that will take actual solutions and hard work, not useless banning that only hurts Americans.

“TikTok, for instance, could use tracking pixels embedded in third-party websites to collect data about a person’s IP address and browsing activity, even if that person does not have a TikTok account”

”banning TikTok will not prevent the Chinese government from collecting sensitive data from Americans if it wishes to do so. As he underscored, “it would be trivial for the Chinese government to buy enormously detailed datasets about Americans.” And it could do so “without ever accessing the data collected by TikTok.”

Where was this energy when our government was censoring social media companies and demanding they do their bidding? It was blatant election interference and a complete violation of the 1st amendment.

Where was this energy when our government was trying to force illegal mandates of an experimental product and lying about it's efficacy and safety?

Tik-Tok is where you hit the wall?

Crazy times. The Gov’t using Judges and Prosecutors to go after political opponents. Forcing the sell of social media platforms in the name of protecting citizens privacy.. It will be interesting to see what America is going to look like in 20 years.

Strange comment since it pertains to a man who encouraged his supporters to enthusiastically embrace the idea of "Lock her up" in the 2016 presidential campaign. Such rhetoric can backfire.

Agree on the terrible idea of the government and politicians being involved in forcing social media platforms to sell.

Absolutely 100% what is happening. Just think if Don Jr had done what Hunter did, WOW, PRISON FOR SURE!!

This isn't about free speech. It's about a foreign adversary controlling a major news source in our country.

No way China would allow an American company such access. We need stronger laws involving reciprocity. No access to your market for us. No access to our market for you. Of course, Beijing Biden has been the biggest cheerleader for China in Washington for decades, so don't expect it to happen any time soon.

In a healthy functioning democracy, a politician would go to jail for funding and pettling the Steele Dossier.

Yeah, her lawyer Sussman actually had a badge allowing him access to FBI headquarters whenever he wanted it to give them propaganda lies. How does that happen?

I know you just like to argue, but I see a difference. To me there's a difference in saying out loud what should be done and directing your henchmen to do it. Donald J Trump certainly had the ability to direct his DOJ to do a full scale investigation of Hillmonster after he was elected. He chose not to. Biden on the other hand has systematically gone after his political opponent with every weapon he could possibly use, and I think it is recognized and the American people have had enough of it. My guess is that you recognize it too, but maybe will not acknowledge it.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. should be the perfect candidate to bail the Democratic Party out of this Biden mess. He would likely win a head-to-head match with Trump in a two-party race.

Instead, they can't deal with the fact he wants accountability from government agencies, doesn't like feeding the war machine, wants to secure our border, and supports free speech. This is how off-the-rails that party has become and many of their supporters still can't seem to make the connection.

The guy has a few good ideas, but on the whole, he is a nutcase. I'm all for accountability, but he would never win a head to head against anybody, I dont think.

or Jared Kushner, using his position in the White House to land a billion dollar + investment with a Saudi dictator?

The problem with your post:

1) Congress hasn't provided any evidence in the hearings of China controlling TikTok in the United States. In fact, Senator Rand Paul said last week on tv that he's still waiting for actual evidence of such.

TikTok is banned in China. If China controls it so well, why the need to ban it in China?

2) We aren't China. There are all sorts of things China doesn't allow that Americans enjoy. China doesn't allow people to criticize their local and senior politicians. But we do.

3) Your last comment is strange given Biden has stated he'd sign and supports a TikTok ban. Donald Trump is arguing against a ban.

and of course, Donald Trump and his family have had quite extensive business dealings with China, for years.

Nutcase howso? Only 30% of the Republican Party said they want Trump. The rest are voting for him because of lack of a better option and they are worried about our country. Kennedy is very intelligent and likable. IMO, Trump would not fair well in a head-to-head debate with him. Kennedy is the one guy who could flip Trump's antics against him. He's an excellent debater after 40 years of practicing law.

That's simply not true.

Trump's DOJ opened an investigation into Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation. The FBI opened investigations in Little Rock, Arkansas, New York State, and Washington DC.

The Trump State Department also investigated Hillary Clinton.

He wouldn't win a head to head race against anyone. He's a nut job whose own family (and he acknowledges this) has rejected his ideas, and his politics.

The Republican Party just had the option to select better options- even someone almost exactly like Trump policy wise but without the Trump baggage- and he didn't come remotely close to winning- against a man who refused to even debate him.

Kennedy is a nut job whose own family doesn't support him.

Most people that don't follow politics- but would vote in November would hear Kennedy on stage, think something is wrong with him because of the way he talks and refuse to vote for him.

This country has always been fine with sweetheart business arrangements. Burisma, Biden and Ukraine are a far different story.

The country is fine with lots of things.

But it's rich to hear people whine about a President's son who is not in government and defend or ignore a man who was working in the White House and worked out a Billion dollar deal with a dictator seemingly out of the blue- with a father in law went out of his way to defend the saudi dictator at every turn.

The reason JOe Biden might lose has nothing to do with Burisma. LOL

If the Republcians could only produce some actual evidence to link Joe BIden to it. As Republican Ken Buck said just a few weeks back- they don't have anything and keep wasting time.

Straight from mainstream news. At some point, you're going to realize it has become nothing other than a mouthpiece for those currently running this country and that's not a good thing for anyone.

His son has now admitted in front of Congress that his Dad was involved in the calls, just like all his business partners claimed. Hunter received money from China. That's money was distributed to many in the family, including Joe.

How many times did Joe Biden lie about now knowing ANYTHING about his son's "businesses"?

Ha ha ha. Yep I called that one.

Well, you said they didn't investigate Hillary.

That was clearly not true. Trump's DOJ investigated her- and the Clinton Foundation itself- for all 4 years of his Presidency.

I mean, that's easy to look up. Saying he didn't is strange when they clearly did.

His son has now admitted in front of Congress that his Dad was involved in the calls, just like all his business partners claimed. Hunter received money from China. That's money was distributed to many in the family, including Joe.

Hunter Biden — in a theme he previewed in a defiant opening statement on Wednesday morning — told lawmakers and congressional aides that his father had no involvement in his business arrangements as he fielded questions on years-old financial deals and his own well-publicized struggle with addiction.

“All I know is this: My father was never involved in any of my business, ever. Never received a cent from anybody or never benefited in any way. Never took any actions on behalf in any way. And I can absolutely, 100 percent state, that is not just in my case but in every family member's case,” Hunter Biden told lawmakers, according to the transcript.

Then why was he involved in the phone calls?

What exactly was Hunter Biden selling?

How many times did Joe Biden lie about now knowing ANYTHING about his son's "businesses"?

"Devin Archer testified that Joe Biden's interactions with Hunter Biden's associates were "not related to commercial business," that Joe Biden had no involvement with Burisma."

If Republicans actually had such evidence, they'd finalize a report and vote to 1)impeach Joe Biden

Republicans can't even agree to that.

Today on Sirius radio, Republican House member Andy Harris said he saw no reason to impeach Joe Biden and didn't think a vote would ever happen.

Republican Senator Chuck Grassley has said, several times, he sees no evidence that would lend itself to impeaching Biden.

There are many others but it's boring repeating their statements.

Because his son was calling his dad and trying to make himself look big in front of his friends and business associates- as Devin Archer testified to

but also said he didn't talk actual business with his dad.

There isn't one poltician in Washington that doesn't do that on a regular basis.

You just said that above. Just because CNN anchors state this doesn't make it true.

I don't watch CNN. I don't have cable news.

Only a fool watches cable news- and only an idiot would listen to them.

It takes about 2 seconds listening to Robert Kennedy to realize he has no chance- and then reading about his own family thinking he's nuts is the icing.

Tony Bobuliski:

“Joe Biden was more than a participant in and a beneficiary of his family’s business; he was an enabler, despite being buffered by a complex scheme to maintain plausible deniability,”

Kennedy's family was in a Politico article in 2019 stating they didn't agree with him on vaccines and the pharma-sponsored MSM ran with it. Wonder how they feel about that position today?

Otherwise, he posts regularly about being with them at various family events. Take the blinders off.

"Over the past several years, Tony Bobulinski has seemingly shared his story with anyone who would listen, including the Trump campaign. But his loftiest claims — that Joe Biden was deeply involved in his son’s overseas business deals — are still uncorroborated and have been undercut by other key witnesses."

Bobulinski went public in the final weeks of the 2020 race. When the Wall Street Journal covered Bobulinski’s public remarks, its story made clear that the China deal never closed, and that corporate records “show no role for Joe Biden.”

Another witness called by House Republicans, Rob Walker, said in January he did not believe Bobulinski was a credible actor and would never consider working with him again. Walker framed Bobulinski’s allegations as “dumbfounded” and “nonsensical.” He speculated that Bobulinski’s motivations were “political.”

“I think he had come to realize that Hunter had moved on without him and he was probably a little pissed also,” Walker added, “So that probably added a little fuel to Tony’s fire.”

As I have said - and even other Republicans have said- if they had the evidence, they'd vote and forward a report for prosecution. They haven't done that- and it looks unlikely they will.

He was selling what all political actors always sell- the allure of access- even if they can't deliver it.

If that was against the law, 80% of politicians and their families would be in jail.
