The Grope Thread

Actually I would just love for Watson to be flagged for excessive celebration. Or better yet, him not get flagged because they never sniff the end zone!

It's disturbing to see Clemson players deliberately reaching to grab another guy's crotch. And, no Mr. Boulware, this is not just a normal part of football.

One would think that these players would be embarrassed when they were caught on camera copping a feel of another man's junk.

But, no, quite the contrary.
They are saying that it's normal.

According to the Post and Courier,
Wilkins said "it's what you do."
And Dabo said it's all in good fun.

As disturbing as those comments are, it gets worse. The article goes on to quote Boulware, who says people who find this appalling "have never been in a locker room and seen the weird stuff."

Damn, I don't even want to know what "the weird stuff" is.

Now, I realize that what consenting adults do is their business, whether it's in the bedroom or a locker room, and some people have a taste for "the weird stuff".

But what I think the Clemson players and coaches are missing is that other players are not consenting to their fondling. I think they know this because they sneak around the back of a player to touch another guy and feel them without the other player knowing it. This may be a thrill for the Clemson player but players on other teams find it offensive.

Again, they can do whatever "weird stuff" they want to do in their locker room but don't touch other people's privates without their consent because it's "what you do" or think "it's all in good fun".

Bouleware reportedly claims grabbing another players private parts is a normal part of football and sees nothing wrong with it.

And we're not talking about patting someone on the butt. They reach under to grab another guy's private parts.

So,the question is:
Does Clemson recruit molestors or do they teach how to do it when players get there?

I always wondered why we didn't win many football games when I played at Midland Valley. Now thanks to Boulware I know it's because we didn't grab crotches. Cause we sure as hell weren't very good.

I played from 5 to 18 and I never experienced anything like he's talking about. Or even heard of anyone else experiencing it. Very strange!

I lost some respect for Tim Hill this morning, not that I had a ton of it anyway but still. Laughing it off, saying it's no big deal because the guy didn't even feel it. What??! Give me a break.

Its their culture, passed down through the years. There has always been a lack of class associated with their players. Wonder what other methods of getting into head of other teams they deploy. The racial slurs don't seem quite so far fetched now.

The legacy of Pitchfork Ben, as explained by clempson students:

handle 'fondlegate' on his own without legal counsel and/or professional public relations assistance.

The second mistake was in handing over to that moron, Boulware, the primary media communications job for this major, major mess in Dump Valley!

The third mistake? 'Oops! communication from Dabo - the fool backed up Boulware!

Clemson has a mess on their hands and they don't know what to do about it.

I want sticky fingers to fondle a bama player so Saban can pull a Woody Hayes. Is that too much to ask?

Like it or not, all kinds of things like this go on in a pile of humanity during football games. I will almost guarantee that our gamecocks have done similar things in those piles. I can, however, honestly say that it was a first to be seen in the open like that. That behavior, no matter how prevalent, is not okay and should not be made out to be so. This incident probably would have gone away if Boulware doesn't speak. Now all kinds of videos are popping up with him doing inappropriate things. This still doesn't stop Boulware from talking. I'm surprised Dabo hasn't muzzled Boulware

I do have some very good friends that are Clemson folk and good people. I have been surprised by how they think it is okay. Not that I am insinuating they are sex offenders like some on here have, but it also shouldn't be laughed of as part of the game (unfortunately it is, but shouldn't be).

Boulware and Wilkins have been 'sniffing the opponents' end zones all year'.

Who is Tim Hill? Never heard of him.

Their corn hole boards would have an osu player's rump as the hole, and ben-bouleware-finger shaped bean bags

when Boulware and the rest of those bragadocious ball grabbers get into the NFL? Are the great players going to grab their sacks?

Or are Clempson players going to have to dress in the stall? No wonder the ACC moved their Championship game out of Charlotte.

Clemson has a mess on their hands and they don't know what to do about it.

If they would keep their hands off of opponents butts and crotches, their hands would still be messy.

IF ... and that's a big IF ... he gets a chance in the NFL, I can only imagine the hazing he's gonna take from the veterans on whatever team dumb enough to give him a shot.

Stuff like this probably occurs in NFL. In the old days teams had an enforcer whose job was to retaliate against opposing teams.

Players also took care of it on their own. Sam Huff supposedly called Jim Brown the N word and told him he stunk. Next play Brown ran over Huff scored, and later asked Huff how he smelled now.

Warren Snap said an OL called him the N word. His reply was "how about if I run over you, kill your QB and get you fired."

I think you are dissecting ants because you will find fault in everything Clemson says or does.

The "chokehold"
Jackson was trying to gain more yards; BB was trying to stop him. During the pace of the game, the defense will grab what ever they can to prevent more yards. Sometimes, you grab the facemask, the collar or even around the neck. Most of the time you don't realize it because everything happens so fast. Now, I do think BB realized he had him around the neck when the play was over and held on after the whistle or got a quick squeeze and LJ didn't like it. Probably could have been a personal foul if the referee saw it. But it is no different than the pushing and shoving or trash talking that goes on. For example, when a player is trying to make a tackle and inadvertently grabs the facemask and turns the helmet around. Typically it is not grabbed on purpose, but they typically don't let go because it happens so fast. Or when a defense players gets pissed off because he is blocked until the whistle when the play is on the other side of the field.

The "racial slurs"
BAW specifically said it was a white OL. But he didn't know his name, number or what he looked like, yet CU only has 3 while OL. It's unfortunate if it happened, but I don't buy this story for one sec. Do you really think black players on CU's team would be OK with a white teammate using that word even if directed to the opponent? I think the story was made up in the heat of the moment from the loss or that it was the black players using the word. The fact that the story dies out after a day or two speaks volumes.

The "nut grab"
There is no excuse for this. Unfortunately, eye poking, spitting in the face, nut grabbing, punching etc goes on in the bottom of piles. I guess it is done to get a mental advantage. Doesn't make it right, but it happens. Wilkins landed his hand on the opponents ass and in a split second thought he could sneak a nut squeeze and it look inadvertent. Instead he did it out in the open and got busted. Kids do stupid things and this was stupid. If you think other teams (including SC) don't do this too, you're dead wrong. But to say it constitutes a culture being fostered by the coaches is not accurate. It's the culture of football, but maybe it's an issue that needs to be addressed, especially in the day of more and more sexual assault.

Wilkens didn't land on the guys butt, he was clearly standing over him. Nice try.

Didn't feel it? Then why do it? If that's supposed to get inside the other player's head, why would he not make sure the guy felt it?

If you look at the video, the player actually did feel because you could tell by his reaction.

I'm not a cat, so please, no one try to kill me 'cause of my curiosity!

In considering the folliwing...

fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct charged against Michigan football player

And then this one:

arrested after the game had ended when one of the girls yelled out “That dude right there was grabbing our butts!”

In consideration of those above two articles should Bowelwhere and Christian(sp?) be charged similarly for what they were BOTH FILMED doing?? If not, is there then such a thing as a "friendly, non-criminal, yet still sexual grope" concept?? If so, please explain.

In closing, again merely curious; clemon fans, with all due respect, please give your honest opinions.

In closing, this from BAMA LT Cam Robinson:

Alabama LT Cam Robinson on Clemson players being touchy-feely: "They better not try me like that. That's all I got to say."

oh ffs. you are truly obsessed about this. no. nor do people get charged in football games with assault and battery for vicious tackles or for targeting. nor do porn stars get charged for sexually assaulting each other, even in rape fetish videos. if you step onto a football field, or inside a wrestling ring, you agree that you are setting aside your normal privileges against assault and battery.
