Been there done that. Have the frostbite to remember it by. That would be a TV bowl for me. I discovered I have a severe allergy to that place. We punch a ticket to Birmingham.
The old Gamecock within me says we lose big (it's taken 54 years to make me like that). The hopeful Gamecock will be watching and hoping for a big win! What does everyone think. Do we fall on our face or become bowl eligible around 7:30 Saturday night?
Well the spread was 20 and we won by 23 so not far off. I think we win handily. They cannot stop the run. As long as Brown can pass some and scramble to keep them honest we should have this. The spread is just what the different casinos (and others) think the line needs to be to have a close to even amount on both sides. That way the house wins no matter what. The house does not want it loaded on one side or the other. That is why the line moves in response to the betting. For those who somehow are equating the spread as to how it will effect the outcome of the this weeks game, go back and check what the spread was last week when we played UF.
I was at that fiasco. Don't think I'd ever been so cold for such a long time, and in a dump of a stadium.Been there done that. Have the frostbite to remember it by. That would be a TV bowl for me. I discovered I have a severe allergy to that place.
1. Just 43 points, but who's counting. 😄Well the spread was 20 and we won by 23 so not far off. I think we win handily. They cannot stop the run. I was there also. Coldest I've been at a ball game I think. Stadium is (was?) in a crappy section of Birmingham. It should be condemned if it has not been already. I've got family in B'ham and my brother in law got me tickets through work, so I didn't lay out much besides beer money. Feel bad for anyone who paid to see that fiasco.I was at that fiasco. However, they have moved the Bowl from Legion Field (hope it has been blown up) to a new downtown stadium that UAB uses. Looks nice.
My birthday on Saturday as well. Go Cocks. Go Scorpio. It's my birthday Saturday. All I want is a Gamecock win!!
Papa John’s bowl at the Iron Bowl. I was there with my three boys freezing to death. Papa John’s ran out of pizza before the half. Miserable experience.I was at that fiasco. Don't think I'd ever been so cold for such a long time, and in a dump of a stadium.

I remember going into the bathrooms to get warm. Only place in the stadium that had heat running.Papa John’s bowl at the Iron Bowl. I was there with my three boys freezing to death. Papa John’s ran out of pizza before the half. Miserable experience.
I figured you were aware of how it works. Many looks at it as a prediction though. In our case we think that we have a QB and offense now and the earlier games are not a good indicator for us going forward. So we should beat mizzou. Mizzou looks at our offensive stats and thinks that we suck and Florida just had the flu and sucky coaches. So they should beat us at home.1. Just 43 points, but who's counting. 😄
2. Well aware of how that system works.
I went a bowl game at Legion Field. One of my worst experiences ever. No parking and had to catch a shuttle bus from downtown. Cold, raining and miserable. Left in the second half and got on the wrong bus (scotch may have been involved). Stayed on the bus until everyone got off at various parking lots. Driver was more than kind. Drove me to each parking lot and finally found my car. Only one left on the lot. What an idiot. Somehow I survived.I was at that fiasco. If north of I-10, in a domed stadium.I was there also. Coldest I've been at a ball game I think. Stadium is (was?) in a crappy section of Birmingham. Bowl Games belong on or south of Interstate 10 lol.
We might be able to do better. We punch a ticket to Birmingham.
I like the way you think but let's take this one game at a time. How about we beat a
Bad Missouri team
Bad Auburn team
And a
Bad Clemson team ?
I agree that they have a terrible run defense and if we can’t move the ball it’s shameful. If our offense plays as it did against the gaytors, we win a cakewalk. But we all know what they say about ifs and buts, right? I’m looking forward to seeing how this team handles a big home win when they go one the road. I hope they stay grounded and focused, and it parlays into win #6. This is the biggest and most important game of the season. They have a terrible D. If we can’t move the the ball, that’s shameful. Their offense is about a TD better than ours, but their D is much worse.
I was at that game, still had upper decks in 1979. Went to the PJB as well. Birmingham isn’t a destination on the map I’d choose to visit again for much of anything.Been to Legion Field once - the Hall of Fame Bowl vs Mizzou in December, 1979. Rain, but not excessively cold.

This is what I hope for as well, but they stacked the line against GA last week, and held them in check rushing for the most part. If they do that to us, JB is going to have to beat them through the air. Can he? I think he can, I hope he can. IMO the TE's are going to have to have a big game.Gotta establish the run game and pound it. Can’t put the game on Brown’s arm.
Thats what I've been saying; many of the talking heads are calling Missouri "garbage", and fans like to buy into the talking heads. Like you said, Georgia didn't exactly light it up on the ground; Brown is going to HAVE TO BE active out there to move the chains and score. I was actually impressed with Missouri; I'm not sure they'll back off the line even if we start going over them. This is what I hope for as well, but they stacked the line against GA last week, and held them in check rushing for the most part. I don't think Auburn is a bad team.I like the way you think but let's take this one game at a time.
