Transfer Portal Tracker: Names SC May Target This Off-season

Oklahoma wide receiver Theo Wease is headed to the transfer portal. Wease, the RS-Junior wide receiver, announced his intention to enter the portal via Twitter this morning after OU's regular season finale vs Texas Tech a few days back. He leaves Norman as a graduate transfer with two years of eligibility remaining.

Expected to be a focal point this fall under first-year coordinator Jeff Lebby, Wease caught 19 passes for 378 yards and 4 TDs in the 2022 regular season. Wease totaled 64 receptions for 1,044 yards and 10 touchdowns across 3 seasons on the field for OU.

The Gamecocks were thought to be in the mix of it last year when Wease tested the portal waters but he ultimately decided to return to OU. Given the connection with Shane Beamer and 2 other former OU players that joined the Gamecocks in Spencer Rattler and Austin Stogner there could be some movement here in the coming weeks.

Never forget the QUITTERS who abandoned this team

Never forget the pathetic QUITTERS who abandoned this team. They left this roster short handed and it showed. I’ll never remember them for anything they did here other than QUITTING on us before playing fu**ing NOTRE DAME. Not UConn or Iowa or someone like that. The most high profile team name in college football history. A win that would carry so much weight.

Thanks quitters. Hope your 40 time is 0.01 faster and that 7th round pick was worth flushing your reputation. Hope it was worth it to portal to some other team where you probably wont play as much since you gotta learn a whole new system.

2022 Gamecocks were a 9 win roster with an 8 win heart

Arkansas fans take on the OC hire

Reading some Arkansas forums. Apparently Dowell is an outstanding recruiter. But they (fans) were worried he’d become their OC if Briles left. Others said hes resume was “too good” to keep him as just the TE coach.

I’ll say this…in this modern era, being a 5-star recruiter and 3-star play caller is probably more desirable than the inverse. Players have absolutely no sense of loyalty or commitment anymore. So developing them for 3-5 years in a great scheme is old news. Its plug and play now so we need recruiters, not playbook geniuses.
