Aunt and uncle have covid

Aunt has pneumonia and in hospital. Not on ventilator but given extra oxygen. Uncle doing better than her and is not in hospital but has to push back surgery that was scheduled to take out his kidney that is cancerous. NEITHER WAS VACCINATED BECAUSE THIS WHOLE THING WAS POLITICIZED AND THEY LET PARTY POLITICS DICTATE TO THEM HOW TO VIEW THE VACCINE INSTEAD OF PEER REVIEWED SCIENCE. I hope that if you are on the fence about the vaccine then this may help sway you. If not that’s fine. Not looking for an argument or to hear about anyone’s “research”. I wish everyone on this board health and long lives. Go gamecocks.

Expansion realignment for SEC

Just my thoughts on the potential set up if we expand. I’ve ranked each division based on where I project the Gamecocks and other teams in the pecking order once expansion occurs…

SEC

East
  1. Alabama
  2. Georgia
  3. Florida
  4. South Carolina
  5. Auburn
  6. Kentucky
  7. Tennessee
  8. Vandy

West
  1. Oklahoma
  2. Texas A&M
  3. LSU
  4. Texas
  5. Missouri
  6. Mississippi
  7. Arkansas
  8. Mississippi State
Or

South East
  1. Georgia
  2. Florida
  3. South Carolina
  4. Tennesse

South
  1. Alabama
  2. Auburn
  3. Kentucky
  4. Vandy

Mid South
  1. LSU
  2. Missouri
  3. Mississippi
  4. Mississippi State

South West
  1. Oklahoma
  2. Texas A&M
  3. Texas
  4. Arkansas

I down with either way, but the two things I like most about the Pod alignment is it allows for more expansion and we could also create an expanded SEC Championship. We could have a semifinal round with the winners of all Pods playing the last Saturday of the November (say two play at Jerry’s World in Dallas and two play at BOA stadium in Charlotte) then the two winners play the first Saturday of December for the championship at Mercedes Benz stadium in Atlanta.

Mock Depth Chart re- edit

With updated info by Wes
Qb1 Luke Doty Beamer publicly announced

Still stick to my opinion I’m glad Jason Brown was here for more competition and a good back or maybe Colten Gauthier. I’m thinking Beamer is doing what Bobo should have in the sense having the senior mentor the sophomore.

RB- Kevin Harris, Marshawn Lloyd, Zaquandre Whit ( personally think we have a three headed monster after the spring game)

WR-
Dakeron Joyner
Jaleen Brooks
Rico Powers

since depth chart only allow 3 this was tough (obviously more WR will get playing tim
Ahmarean Brown don’t sleep on GT transfer in his freshman season he beat his freshman Megateon aka Calvin Johnson td record in a season.
WR- Otre Smith is kinda of a dark hoarse after being 100% healthy again and we know his potential but hasn’t played in 2 year
WR- Xavier Legette
I sincerely hope Josh Vann can finally put it all together along with Randrecous Davis both Seniors

TE- Nick Muse and EJ Jenkins ( who I’m personally excited about and how they can use him)

O-Line-
LT- Dylan Wonnom
LG- Jazston Turnetine
OC- Jordan Rhodes
RG- Jovaughn Gwyn
RT- Jaylen Nicholas

***DEFENSE***
Edge Enagbre/ Aron Sterling
DT- Zach Pickens/ Alex Huntley
DT- Tonka Hemingway/Rick Sandidge (didn’t know he was up to 297 lbs. and Rick Sandige hasn’t lived up to potential yet.
Edge- Jordan Burch/ Jordan Strachan

(although I think they are talking about playing him inside some of that’s true I think seriously mess up the DT chart. Personally think he is going to do great things no matter where he is at edge too Edit: he was listed at 270 at the time too)

LB- Sherrod Greene/Debo Williams
Brad Johnson/ Mohamed Kaba

Corner-
Cam Smith/Isaiah Norris
Prunty/David Spaulding

Safety- honestly it’s probably battle between rj roderick, jaylin Dickerson, Jaylen Ross, Jaylen Foster... but:

we have 3 DBs listed 2 walk on both redshirt freshman and the other true freshman so I’m guessing all our safety will be our backfield

so corners and safeties are about to get a lot of playing time.

I have us at 7-5 this coming season, wins over . . .

3 of the non conference games, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Missouri, and one of the three against either Florida or Auburn (at home) or Tennessee or A&M away, the team will get better as the year progresses, Tennessee isn't a power house, and I am not certain that Auburn is that good either. If Harris and Lloyd can stay healthy and carry the running game, I think Doty, with at least some ability to pass and make plays in the read option will make the offense competitive. So that is my assessment, not that it matters and is subject to change if we lose to ECU the second week. It would take a small miracle to beat either UGA or the Upstate Rival this year, the talent gap overall is extremely wide.

Expansion: the money argument

I guess, as it pertains to us, the prevailing opinion is: UT and OU to the SEC means more money for the conference and, in turn, more money for USC, which makes us better.

Problem is, every other program in the conference will get richer by the same amount we will. The extra money doesn’t help shift our standing in the conference one iota.

And who cares how much richer we’re getting relative to Clemson? How much is that helping us right now?

Any Good Eats this Weekend?

What are your plans? Just thought I would ask as I start to prep for tomorrow. I’m firing up my smoker and making pulled pork, ribs and chicken. Appetizer will be a large platter of antipasto (aka charcuterie these days :)); various cheeses, salamis, nuts, dried fruit, olives, roasted red peppers, papadew peppers with goat cheese and a few other things. Sides will include cole slaw, macaroni salad, cheesy corn bread, white corn, hot pickles, and sliced tomatoes and onions.
