SEC Media Days Notes

Just finished meeting with Shane Beamer off-podium in Nashville. Working to get some more full quotes for y'all but the gist of the notes for now:

- Jaylen Nichols is the only guy who won't be ready for fall camp
- Jordan Strachan and Mo Kaba are going to be limited to start
- There are 38 new scholarship players on the roster since the Clemson game

A lot more soon.

At my age, COMPLAINING, is probably my favorite activity. How bout U?

HOWEVER, Today, I am assenting!!! (The opposite of complaining, ... google it and see)

Assenting the demise of the term "SWEEPER" from baseball. Haven't heard the talking heads use the term in about 3/4 weeks.

Now, I know y'all love feminizing sports to attract those who will never become fans of your sport or any sport, for that matter. Just like having the home team wear Their Colors at a home game. SPORTS are attempting to attract the "never will be a fan" just to claim increasing NUMBERS & PERCENTAGES only.

OPS??? C'mon, a dirt bag stat! Nuff said!

QUIT trying to attract the fan who doesn't understand nor really cares.
Let us enjoy OUR GAME.

SEC Media Days Schedule

Quick notes at how South Carolina's day is going to break down tomorrow in Nashville:

Shane Beamer will be on the main podium at 10:30 here, so that's 11:30 ET which as far as I know will be live on SEC Network. He will also be going on Finebaum at 12:45 ET for 15 minutes, which as far as I know will also be carried live on SEC Network.

He will also have stops in between with SiriusXM (10:20-10:30 ET), SEC Radio (10:30-10:40 ET), Marty and McGee (11:10-11:30 ET) and SEC Nation (12:30-12:45 ET) among a few other stops in the building here with electronic media, SEC digital and CBS (probably some promo stuff for graphics and info this season.)

He will also be speaking privately with just South Carolina's media group before all of that, which we will have full coverage of on the Insider's Forum.

Players will not have their stuff as televised as other head coaches take their turns, but here are their schedules. We will of course have content and stories on them tomorrow, too: All times for these lists are CENTRAL

A few more updates trickled through today, althuogh none were surprising:

First, the Gamecocks will not have the services of transfer portal addition Matt Duffy after he signed with the Red Sox:

Incoming recruit George Wolkow signed for over four times his slot value with the White Sox, meaning he will not make it to campus. The lone other recruit in the class who was drafted, Raudi Rodriguez, has not signed yet.

And Cade Austin signed in the 19th round with the Yankees. He was the one question mark in terms of the guys who were drafted, but he will not be on the roster next season. More innings that the staff will have to fill. South Carolina is now down five of its top eight guys from last seaon in terms of innings, plus Eli Jerzemebck was in the top eight and had Tommy John sugery.

Will Sanders (Cubs, 4th round) remains the only drafted Gamecock who has not signed yet, but he is very likely to. Deadline is July 25th.

4-star WR Jonathan Paylor Sets Commitment Date

Jonathan Paylor officially sets his commitment date for August 5th at 2 pm EST.

I've had a futurecast in for Paylor to South Carolina for a while, and I don't plan on changing it at the moment. That said, NC State is a legitimate threat here and will be one to monitor in the coming weeks.

North Carolina, Maryland and Penn State round out his top 5.
