Braves 🆚 Nationals 8/08/21 Blown Saves Are Part of The Game

Welcome to another edition of Gamecock Central Braves Baseball ⚾️ Chat 💬. I am your host @Pfunk Cock along with a plethora of regular participants in the chat.
Yes I am heartbroken and pissed about the BS but today I resolve to forget it happened . Even though the 😈 is happy and his accomplice got a 3 month extension, the world 🌎 is still revolving and the Mest still suck okay 😎😎. Now back to our regularly scheduled chat 😎.
Freeman will be out of the lineup today as the team wants him healthy for the stretch run and upper respiratory infections are nasty and needs to be medicated , pump fluids and relax.

we will have a battle of southpaws again as Max Fried (Just call his Slugger) takes the hump and will be opposed by Patrick Corbin. Fried has been pitching like his old self recently and swing a bat like he was born with a sweet stroke. Corbin has been the opposite as he has not been pitching like he has in previous years. I still believe the offense slumped not only because of an outstanding performance by Rookie J Gray but the second day blahs after an early morning flight the day before takes its toll on the body. After the heartbreak loss last night I doubt if anyone slept well knowing they had second place secured and the first 5 game winning streak on the bag. That is baseball in a nutshell. You never know what is going to happen until the final out . Time to start another week and another Streak.

Two priests decided to go to Hawaii

Two priests decided to go to Hawaii
🌴
on their holidays.
They were determined to make this a real vacation by not wearing anything that would identify them as clergy. As soon as the plane landed they headed for a store and bought some really outrageous shorts, shirts, sandals, sunglasses.
😎

The next morning they went to the beach dressed in their 'tourist' garb. They were sitting on beach chairs, enjoying a drink, the sunshine and the scenery when a 'drop dead gorgeous' topless blonde came walking straight towards them ......They couldn't help but stare.
As the blonde passed them she smiled and said 'Good Morning, Father ~ Good Morning, Father,' nodding and addressing each of them individually, then she passed on by. They were both stunned. How in the world did she know they were priests?
So the next day, they went back to the store and bought even more outrageous outfits.
Once again, in their new attire, they settled down in their chairs to enjoy the sunshine. After a little while, the same gorgeous topless blonde came walking toward them. Again she nodded at each of them and said 'Good morning, Father ~ Good morning, Father,' and started to walk away.
One of the priests couldn't stand it any longer and said, 'Just a minute, young lady.' 'Yes, Father?' 'We are priests and proud of it, but I have to know, how in the world did you know we are priests, dressed as we are?'
She replied, 'Father, it's me, Sister Kathleen.'

Strange Times

Just a couple of observations on the strange times we’re living through.

On the way home yesterday I’m driving through a little section that is filled with small retail stores, restaurants, fast food, coffee shops, and a gas station. There signs on the road in front of so many businesses saying they’re hiring, sign on bonus etc. there were so many that it looks like election season with political signs. Never seen that before just thought it was an odd observation.

My business is now seeing full on shortages. From plastic, to metal, to chemicals most everything is on backorder and they have no guidance on when we can expect it to change. Further, the desperation seems to be ratcheting up because a truck filled with what supplies they do have was stolen from their facility Monday night. Trust me until now, nothing on that truck would have been worth stealing.

Lastly, had an HVAC in one of the stores yesterday. He said they are seeing lots of back orders on replacement parts.

Keeps getting stranger.

Bo Time for Colten Gauthier..

He should rep a guitar maker/seller too with his mad skills.

The Little Things

I think it's interesting how much focus has been on the details. Little things like footwork and lower body mechanics which Doty said makes the difference between over throwing a receiver, or hitting them in their chin.

It seems to me the Little things were what we have been missing. We have recruited pretty well, just not getting the players in position to do the Little things well.

This made me think of two things: Saban is the master of the little things, and how in the heck was Muschamp, who Saban trained, so bad at it.
