First of all, I have TOTALLY quit listening to 107.5 from 12-4 as so many of you have advised me to do.
I do listen in the morning and I do listen to Heath.
So today I turned the station on at around 345, a little bit early for Heath.
And I was delighted to hear Patrick Davis had called in and was euphoric over the portal news. Then here came Pearson, who described himself as, "the dark rain cloud over USC sports.". (That's his phase, not mine.) Then Pearson proceeded to ask Patrick if he was going to be happy next year if we only win 6 games.

Why why why do we have him as a host for 4 hours on the station that is "the home of the gamecocks"?
And for all of you who declare that we don't need what y'all call "homers", that's your opinion. But we don't need haters either.

I avoid 1-4. I would rather listen to Will Muschamp than listen to Jay.

12-1 is the 2nd best show on 107.5.

Patrick Perrett is about as knowledgeable as a tree when it comes to college football which is why I stopped listening in the morning. And yet he still gets airtime since I guess they don’t want to fill Tim Hill’s role. Cheap labor I suppose with the morning show. I think we can all agree that Heath is the standard to a good quality show (When the technology works…not his fault when it doesn’t).

So will you be happy if we win 6 games next year?

Heath is only one worth listening Too. He gets it. He knows the city he works in and supports USC w/o being over top homer. The rest are nauseating. Negative don’t want. Trivia don't want. Hypothetical it’s great but …. Don’t want. How bout we had a damn great day and its ok to celebrate that for awhile. We are making progress, not where we want to be, but damn sure better than this time last year. Just maybe the OL will be better with more weapons. Our WR’s have been good and we have more coming and we also have one of best WR coaches in country. These players love this culture and these coaches so I am sorry some don’t understand the value there. Just quit whining already. Enjoy life, be positive … it is more fun. Get laid please.

No doubt. I refuse to listen to that clown.

That's not my point.
Why are y'all even suggesting we would only win 6 on next season on 1 of the biggest days in USC football history.
My Lawd we have very little to celebrate nationally but when we do, you guys still can't be happy.

I think you're missing the point of his comment.

Everyone is happy today and boasting. But is that going to lead to more expectations for next season or not? Everyone seems unwilling to take a leap and say we are going to be better next year, except for that one poster. Credit to him for calling his shot.

I stopped listening to them I switched to JB and Goldwater… JB and Darren are awesome and their show is so much better.

I'm not missing the point.
I just don't see the need to bring it up today.
Life is a lot about timing.
This transfer doesn't guarantee anything.
But it's national news.
It's a big deal.
There is a lot of excitement.
Enjoy the moment.
Projecting into the possible negative outcome for next season is ridiculous.

Why is a 6 win season necessarily a negative thing?

We were looking at a potential 3-5 win season next year with Florida hiring a new coach and auburn rotating off the schedule. Rattler could be the difference maker to keep us from having a losing season.

So u see it as a good thing?
Anyway Pearson wasn't referring to a 6 win season as a good thing.
As I said, he referred to himself as the "rain cloud of USC sports "

And u didn't answer my question about is today the day to be negative, in your opinion?

I don't think asking a real question is being negative.

so FL hiring a new coach ensures a loss?!?!!?...& All-barn rotating off ensures another loss (no matter who replaces them)?!?!?...& we don;t win ANY of the games we SHOULD have won this year (MO or KY)???...

Do u thing timing is important?
Or do you ask any question whenever u want?
Don't entertain this poster unless you want to read the most miserable responses over and over and over. You'd rather listen to that show from 1-4 than deal with this guy.
I'm from the lowcountry and we have 98.9, so those are who I hear all day. I'm not familiar with who is who up there.

Don’t know what he/she said because he’s on ignore. Take my advice block that individual. Strictly here to upset people.

Is 98.9 a good station?

I made the mistake of turning it on this afternoon a little before 3pm for the first time in months. That will be the last time, idiots with a bad attitude.
Ikr. But IMHO we need to make an issue of this situation. Coach Beamer is trying to change the culture. That's hard to do when you are being undermined by the hometown radio station. No it doesn't have to be 💯 positive but Pearson is brutally negative.

Still not a bad as that tater we had dominating the morning show for years. I remember him yelling "Go Tigers" as they closed the show the day before they played Notre Dame. No idea why we allow this crap here on our own turf. Never, ever would something like be allowed to happen in tatertown or anywhere else.

You change the culture by winning. You don't change the culture by censuring opinions.

I agree to however you can ALWAYS take a negative outlook/opinion.

For instance USC won 6 games this year.
At one point, on 107.5, when I was listening, Pearson went on a campaign to convince people that our wins weren't good enough wins. In his superior intellect, he deemed our wins, insufficient, inadequate.
He also, at one point in the season, decided we should just stop playing. Save money. Forfeit the rest of the season.

And yes Peasrson has a right to his opinion.
I just don't think he needs to be a host on "the home of the gamecocks" for 4 hours everyday.

I have a right to my opinion as well.

I agree.
But Pearson's disdain for all things Gamecock make me wonder which is worse sometimes.

You have a right to your opinion but you continue to sing the same old song! May want to try a different one. We get it, you don't like Pearson.

My Grandpa always told me, "Never wrestle with a pig. You'll both get dirty and the pig likes it". Leave that dirty little Tater alone to wallow in his own misery.

What I can't understand is why you keep reading my posts, and commenting on them.
Do us both a favor and use the ignore button on me.

If you have any constructive criticism or suggestions for Pearson, you could just tag him in this thread or on Twitter.

@Pearson Fowler
I've already let it be known what I think about Pearson. He's a know-it-all, arrogant, little twerp. I headed out to lunch today at around 12:30 today and was yelling at my radio within 5 minutes because of his incredibly negative attitude. It was all about the negative consequences of yesterday's commitments. I'm afraid that he's rubbing off on Patrick. I headed home shortly after 1. Phil was trying to be positive, but Pearson was doing everything he could to rain on the parade. They need to tell this creep to go elsewhere. Somewhere that a Furman BA degree will earn you a living.
