You can all get to see your hero Wednesday night in Greenville as Furman hosts Wichita State in the first round of the NIT.

Where can we watch Frank and our team in the postseason? Oooohh, wait...
We should definitely pull for Gregg. Can’t pull for other schools (furman) We compete with in state for players.
If South Carolina was in the SOCON, could probably win at Football, the other two major sports?? HMMMMM, not so sure..Are you actually worried about having to compete with Furman for players? If that is the case, maybe we should withdraw from the SEC and apply to get in the SOCON.

You're right. I mean FFF recruits slow, lead-footed, brick-handed Eastern Bloc white dudes in the SEC. Imagine the downgrade if he were in the SoCon. We'd probably have a roster of one-legged Eskimos with emphysema.
We passed on him twice. I honestly do not believe it is a possibility anymore. I hate it...but I think the last time really frustrated him.The question that needs to be asked when his name comes up is would he be satisfied playing second fiddle to football, as far as the fans, administration, and conference are concerned, after being at schools where basketball was #1.
NCAA Tournament Final FourHe has 13 NCAA appearances (at powerhouses Winthrop and Wichita St.). We have 9 as a program. Frank Martin has 5 - only 1 here in 7 years.
Marshall has more NCAA wins 11, than we do as a program 8.
Gregg Marshall 486–185 (.724)
Frank Martin 246–159 (.607)
I mean he only has twice as many wins and a much better winning percentage than our current coach.
In conference play where you play schools with similar facilities, money etc.
FM has complied a sterling 44% winning percentage here.
Meanwhile GM only wins 74% at Wichita and 81% at Winthrop.
Also, he is a South Carolina native and grew up a gamecock fan. Thank god we didn't get him!
Oh I know. Just giving the GM Fan Boys something to think about. I don't see any coach giving up being the #1 thing on campus to be #2 (maybe even #3) somewhere else.We passed on him twice. I don't believe that would have bothered him. He was more than willing to leave Wichita State for us the last time.Oh I know. Just giving the GM Fan Boys something to think about. I don't see any coach giving up being the #1 thing on campus to be #2 (maybe even #3) somewhere else.

No he wasn't. He said he was not interested last time.I don't believe that would have bothered him. He was more than willing to leave Wichita State for us the last time.
I am well aware of his record. That is why I was letting people know they could go see him coach on Wednesday. When your clueless about a man's record and then post it on a public forum. Congrats on it backfiring.
He wanted USC to match what Wichita State was giving him....we wouldn't. He never said he wasn't interested....he approached us as Fogler was doing our search again and Fogler doesn't like Marshall. No he wasn't. He said he was not interested last time.

See post just above yours. And, yes, he would have. No, he wasn't. He was making more at Wichita State than he would have here. And then Wichita State would have ponied up to more than match our pay. He wasn't coming here.
