I do not understand your question. The Hornets are in the Southeast of the Eastern so if they make the finals, they will be Eastern. But they will not be there this year and Memphis will not either.

I've heard people refer to the US "post quake" to mean when the major fault line along California goes, and that state leaves the continental US. But I don't think Memphis and Charlotte would be "out west" even then.
