Not to insert myself into the argument, but you actually think the family of a murdered teen would not want people to remain aware of him and the incident? Okay...
There are many reasons a family might want to not be so public about such a thing.
it’s not as if something like a racially motivated murder couldn’t be hushed up a bit or facts changed some to keep things from looking so bad for a family, town, community or police department. I’m not saying that happened. I am saying it’s certainly reasonable.
It’s not as if we haven’t seen crazy things before. Regarding James Chaney, Andrew Goodman, and Michael Schwerner in Mississippi in the 1960s where they were murdered, no one locally wanted to talk about it, and it took 40 years later for anyone at all to really be held accountable.
