If we offered him money, despite the amount, and he loved USC soooo much, then why couldn't there be an agreement made? Wouldn't you think if Marshall "loved USC" and "was his dream job" then he would try and negotiate whatever terms he could, whether it was less money than he thought he should be owed up front or not, to get the job?

WS reportedly is fund raising like crazy to up Marshall's contract. He's the king there. He never will be at AL, and from what I've read elsewhere, he prefers being a big fish in a small pond...at least smaller than a major state university in a big 5 conference.

Just because he's in love doesn't mean he's stupid. And if you make career decisions based on the team you're a fan of, you're probably not going to do so well in your career.
