The successful bunt is no longer a part of baseball. The Braves (paid professionals) botched their two chances today. Ended in a pop out to catcher and a strikeout. The mentality is “get a walk and hit a homer and put two on the board.”

Yet the past two MLB Champions were very good smallball players. The last NCAA Champion (Vandy) was a very good smallball team. You might have to go back many years to find a pure hitting/pitching team that won it all. Hell, our own team didnt win it all until Ray adapted more smallball. Point is I'm not buying smallball and particularly bunting is gone from baseball. Maybe it's disappeared from average or better than average teams, but not by championship teams.
