So you don't have to go to Law School to be a Lawyer? I beg to differ. In fact, you cannot even sit for the BAR exam unless you have completed Law School. I would say that is pretty well basic training for the job.

This may be how it is now, but we had one of the best domestic lawyers, especially representing women, years back that did not go to law school. He was in the Navy and took courses. When he returned to Charleston he took and passed the bar. During his heyday there was no better divorce lawyer in this state. His name was Paul N Uricchio

Once upon a time, a long long time ago you could pay the fee and take the BAR Exam without going to Law School and if you passed you could get a license to practice law. That changed a long time ago.
