We settle for mediocrity in football and mens basketball.
Tanner is destroying his ”great coach” legacy. Gave us two baseball CWS wins. Then turned WB into a ghost town. I have lost all good feelings toward him.
Good lord. He's rather irrelevant. But what definitely has to happen is a new OC must be hired this December!
I no longer believe it will ever turn around. What in the history of this university would lead anyone to believe it could??
But to be fair, we have a hell of a womens basketball team. Wish it were enough. No slam on the ladies because I love watching them. They are the one team we have that is simply dominant most nights.
What about the other AD'S in our history of piss poor football? Our history shows its not all the AD problem
We’ve only had one decent AD in our history and that was Hyman.
And football was basically what we have now. Nothing long term was established in having a "good football program".
We as fans need to stop accepting a mediocre program moving forward…. And call these people out who are making millions of dollars a year and still producing lousy results. Ray Tanner may be a good fella’ but it was a big mistake making him the a/d.

yes tanner made this hire and no, we dont know how that will turn out but what the hell does today have to do with tanner? please elaborate on what you would do in tanners shoes that would change anything.
I don’t post often but curious why the loss tonight is Tanners fault, but is the win over ranked Florida last week to Tanners credit?
Right and just like when Hyman was hired. We need to get the best person in a National search. Not just a buddy hire. Not just someone connected to the University. Hire the best we can get!
First, I wouldn’t have hired a recently fired Coach from Fl. If I were being paid millions of dollars to find the right Coach- and having the love for Carolina that I do, I would have found the right Coach and other SEC programs who were also down at the time would not be leaving us in the dust right now.
Dawn was hired by Hyman - not Ray. Only creditRay gets is that he hasn’t screwed it up.
I was commenting on Hyman's hires. Tanner gets credit for keeping her from taking the TOSU offer.
Again, for the millionth time on here, all of this is based on the assumption that Tanner actually did make the hire and has the authority to make revenue sport decisions at Carolina after the Muschamp raise. Most of the evidence is contrary to this assumption.
However, if you want to go into a time machine and help the decision-making process after Spurrier quit then I'm all for it.
For any contract over one year in length, no AD has ever had that authority. Contracts over one year require board approval....always have.
Tanner may not be the greatest AD in the world, but he isn't the ultimate problem. That comes from up above and the lack of any commitment that demands winning.
This is more than just about our football Team. As stated many times on this forum, our entire men’s athletic program has collapsed, and it’s all his fault and those he answers to.
Spurrier said he was done and ray begged him to stay another season. That and those Spurrier banners were on Tanners watch
McGee hired both Holtz and Spurrier....as far as hiring coaches, he was probably our most successful AD.
FIFY. The only time Ray asked Spurrier to continue was the season he quit and that was to finish out the season.
Carolina football was mediocre before Tanner and will be after Tanner. Fact is he brings in more money than any AD we have ever had. He isn't going anywhere. We want football to be king and we push for it but in reality here its not.
