WHERE IS COATES?

Either missing layups off the glass or banging the underside of the backboard. Was getting fed heavily underneath but wasnt making the easy shots.

I would have her shooting shots in the paint at least twenty minutes per practice, using the square on the backboard. If she used the square more often, her production would go up considerably. Head fakes and drop steps would also help her. She rarely uses anything but her height. That worked at Irmo. It won't at this level.

I've noticed she hasn't really played the same since her suspension.

I agree.

But...in her defense...Coates is shooting 52% from the floor. Dozier is shooting 35%. Roy, 43%. Cuevas, 37%. Sessions, 46% (and Sessions is always open). If our perimeter players, besdies Mitchell, could space the floor at all, Coates would be unstoppable.

1) In the UK game- she wasn't pump faking at all. If she would have done so, half of UK would have fouled out. Instead, she was going up straight and getting mashed- or missing.

2) She gets herself too far under the basket. That's almost an impossible shot and there is no reason for one of the tallest players on the court to get right up under the basket making shots tougher. Let the other team play defense, don't let the basket play defense.

3) She really needs to work on her touch. At times she's clanking the ball off the rim when an easier touch would fall through.
