Just a quick heads up prior to his announcement, I’m told not to be surprised if FSU’s late momentum pushes them over the edge.

South Carolina is obviously still going to push until the end, but it sounds like the Noles have leapfrogged UNC as the top competition.

Big three days coming up for Gamecock Baseball with the MLB Draft. Should have a handful of players selected, a couple from the high school recruiting class and then we'll see who actually signs contracts over the next two weeks before that July 30th deadline.

A reminder rounds 1-2 are tonight, 3-10 tomorrow and 11-20 wrap it up on Tuesday. I previewed this draft for the Gamecocks with some help from Stephen Anderson, who will also be around here the next few days:

Jackson Phipps (LHP) : He didn't pitch this season. It appears he has two season remaining as well.

Personally. I go to Santee several times a year. Not a big fan of traveling. Prefer 3-4 days somewhere and get out.

For what it's worth, I decided to put in a futurecast for South Carolina this morning, but he was firmly in the UNC boat this spring, and FSU has made a solid push. It won't shock me if it ends up being any of the 3, but the buzz I've heard lately has been positive for the Gamecocks. Sometimes I put in futurecasts when I know 99% of what is going to happen, and sometimes it's just a hunch based on recent vibes. I want to emphasize that this one is the latter, but I do have some confidence.
