Dr. Joan Ullyot pioneer female distance runner has died

If your daughter plays sports you owe her a debt.

“Even in the 1970s, women were solemnly told by respected medical experts that distance running would make them unappealingly masculine, could be downright dangerous and perhaps might even cause irreparable damage to their reproductive organs. Ullyot was determined to debunk such nonsense.”

4 Teams way over rated in my opinion
7. Notre Dame - this is laughable. Lost so much talent. The Loss of DC Clark Lea (new Vandy coach) will be big for them). They will be lucky to win 8 games
13. LSU - I don’t buy it. They will be better, but not as deep and 4 losses is likely. Dangerous game vs UCLA
14. USC - typical blue blood name. Can’t run the ball. Will lose to Utah
17. Indiana - Luckiest team in D1 last year. They will remember that they are Indiana this year.

4 Teams not ranked who should be
Utah - Charlie freakin Brewer
UCLA - This is the year Chip Kelly gets over the hump. Great QB
Boston College (if the defense is just average). Love the coach
TCU - always under rated. Have some elite offensive weapons

Sandidge looking to get back to his old self

Introducing our new writing intern @Michael Sauls, who's going to be helping us out this football season. Here's his first article from today's availability.

School vs school in NIL handling

Listening to Dave Portnoy’s podcast. Please save your hot barstool is evil take. I don’t care. He’s saying Texas is being a pain in the ass to deal with on NILs. Down to the athletes can’t use any shade of orange or the word “Texas” in an ad. LSU is basically saying “Knock yourself out and make that cash!”. The next recruiting frontier is how rigid your athletic department is regarding NIL. USC has appeared to be pretty proactive with NIL so maybe we’ll avoid whatever issues Texas is having.

Baby Bravo heating up in August

One of my concerns has been the lack of production at the catcher’s position. It’s been awhile since we had a power bat behind the plate but down in Mississippi there is a “prospect “
who might just fit the bill. He is our former first round pick Shea Langeliers who is stroking it.
He had another multi homer game and will probably finish with 23-25 homeruns this year.
With Contreras at Gwinnett we should be set at the position since he has been deemed a star in the making. Personally I don’t think Contreras has the power bat but his defensive skills are his ticket to the majors. Go Braves and let’s blow the month of August up!

OT: Best services for TV & Internet .......

I am likely to be moving to the Hillsborough, NC area between now and the end of the year.
I have Spectrum cable for TV and also for internet. Here's my chance to break from them. I've
pretty much been limited to them here in Hickory. Looking for reasonable options for both in Hillsborough
or very near there. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Must haves are:
SEC Network, History Channel, local channels, and that's about it.
I don't need HBO, Cinemax and the like. Very seldom anything on there worth watching.

Estimated costs would be appreciated.
