VIDEO: One-on-one with Jaheim Bell

South Carolina sophomore tight end Jaheim Bell figures to be a major part of the Gamecocks' offense this season as he projects to get many more opportunities this year than he did last season when he was a freshman coming off a knee injury.

Bell discussed his role in the offense, his comfort level this season, and the debut of his social media show.

Since Gamecocks were a football "Independent" - Did the SEC pursue us to join the conference or we pursue them?

Presently and in the past - I think conferences were not legally able to pursue teams of other conferences - correct? Didn't they simply put out the word that they were planning to expand and then the schools that were interested in joining would contact them.

Since we were an Independent at the time we joined - I assume that the SEC might have contacted us first. I've been wondering all about this since the rumor of UT & OU.

Anyone know the true specifics of how Arkansas and South Carolina were absorbed into the SEC?

Thoughts on Lloyd's knee brace?

I understand the need for him to wear a brace but it just seems like the one he had on today makes it very difficult to cut and move freely.
I obviously have never played football but I had a cartilage repair on my left knee and 2 ACL surgeries on my right knee. Just curious if anyone else has an opinion on his knee brace.
To me it looks like the ones the offensive lineman wear to protect their knees and obviously those guys don't have to cut like a running back does.
Just found a picture of him wearing the same type of brace he had on today.

WBB: A'ja Wilson SEC Network Takeover

August 8 could be a very good day for A'ja Wilson. She'll turn 25, she could win a gold medal, and she'll take over the SEC Network. It's worth noting that three of the games do not appear to be on YouTube, so this is a rare chance to watch them. Here's the release from USC:

COLUMBIA, S.C. - SEC Network is celebrating the birthday of South Carolina alumna A'ja Wilson with eight hours of her Gamecock games on Sun., Aug. 8, beginning at noon ET. The four games selected span the breadth of her career as the most decorated student-athlete in South Carolina history.

The takeover, which was not able to re-air any NCAA Tournament games, begins at noon with a replay of her freshman year late-game heroics at Duke. Ranked No. 1 in the country, the Gamecocks were locked in a defensive battle against then-No. 9 Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium, which felt much like Colonial Life Arena as Gamecock fans filled the court-side seating. The Blue Devils led by four the 42 seconds to play, but Wilson and the Gamecocks would not be denied.

At 2 p.m., fans can watch Wilson help the Gamecocks clinch their fourth-straight SEC Regular-Season Championship (Wilson's third). In the 2016-17 National Championship season, then-No. 7 South Carolina topped then-No. 22 Kentucky 95-87 behind 25 points and 10 rebounds from Wilson.

A pair of games from Wilson's senior season (2017-18) cap the broadcast schedule. At 2 p.m. fans can relive Wilson's Senior Day victory over then-No. 24 LSU, 57-48. Wilson's 27 points and 24 rebounds made her the first Gamecock to post a 20-20 game since Sheila Foster against UCLA on Jan. 5, 1982.

In the finale, SEC Network will air what Wilson recently called her most memorable game - the 2018 SEC Tournament title game. As the No. 2 seed in the event, many national pundits expected the Gamecocks to cede their three-year reign as SEC Tournament champions to perennial runner-up Mississippi State. Instead, Wilson posted 16 points, including 10 in the second half, to become the first player on SEC history to go undefeated through the four SEC Tournament appearances in her career.

OT rasslin sad news Beautiful Bobby Eaton RIP

62 years of age. this guy was one of the great technical rasslers ever. did not necessarily have size, his agility and technique more than made up for it. fond memories of the midnight express

Interesting Clayton White tidbit

WKU Safety Devon Key is an un-drafted free agent for the Chiefs. He’s repping w/ the 1’s & 2’s in training camp. Some of the Chiefs’ analysts have commented that the knock on Key before the draft was poor tackling. One specifically stated: “the kid has great Instincts & is picking up the Chiefs defense very quickly, b/c he played in a complex scheme under Clayton White at WKU. That scheme prepared him well to learn Spagnuolo’s scheme in KC.” - Chris Clark (different guy) on the Locked On Chiefs podcast, last night.
That should be a golden nugget on the recruiting trail. JMHO.

LHN doesn't die, it becomes the SEC West Network w/ studios in Austin

LHN doesn't die, it becomes the SEC West Network w/ studios in Austin. That is what workers in Austin are being told, they have jobs. It will be paired free as a part of the SEC network package, not separately billed or requested. Run by the SEC network, but maintaining Austin offices for productions on teams in the west part of the SEC. Evidently all a part of the deal with Disney. The Birminghams studios focusing more on the east of the SEC with some joint programming.
